"Called into this pub on a visit to Castlemaine with family and after attending the Australia Day Hanging Rock Races. A typical country pub with old time decor. Open fire place and obviously popular for bands. The menu was basic parmas, fish and chips, a...little different was my husbands choice of Portuguese Chicken. It was half a chicken with 9 roasted new potatoes, 2 corn on the cobs and coleslaw, a huge meal that was very nice but could have been shared for 2. The 2 parmas ordered were very nice too but I never understand why they have to be placed on top of the chips and half the salad (chips in a seperate basket might be a better option). Fish and chips was enjoyed by my sister in-law. One thing they really SHOULD consider is fly control. It is so off putting when sitting inside, to be swatting flies between mouthfuls and to see flies crawling all over the vacant tables. Otherwise good typical pub style."

"When a fly literally drops in the patrons coffee as you place it in front of them no matter what irrespective of what the customer says show some self respect, respect for your patron, reputation, other oatrons watching and so on and make another coffee. You're in the wrong job and perhaps on the wrong planet otherwise.Good chips Aioli scrambled eggs good, nice sourdough bread confused about the description of the dish what was put in front of me 3 slices of red chilli on the scrambled eggs is chilli eggs? My better half describes the hot chocolate as nothing special, however the Bacon egg roll gets a thumbs up.Finally, how do you literally seem to house every fly in Castlemaine within your Cafe when there are none outside?Coffee weak unfortunately I know coffee.Nice front facade reasonable pleasant enough inside apart from the flies.Just remembered, totally understand welcome service dogs anywhere not a fan of a random dog on the floor where I eat, nor was my better half or daughter.We stand by this review 100% I just bumped from 1 star to 2 stars out of the goodness of my heart."
