"Rather unfortunately we wished to celebrate my husband's birthday at this restaurant. It was, for us, a new experience as we wished to explore an Asian restaurant that was not Japanese or Indian. From the reviews, Paul's Asian Affair sounded good and so we were...keen to try. The problem is that we are vegetarian. The waiter did not clearly understand this, even if we repeated several time that we do not eat meat. For vegetarians, the selection is really a handful of dishes. The usual spring rolls, bean curds, fried vegetables. We ordered three dishes and got two, one of which had meat in it. OK. So we waited for my choice to appear on the table. When nothing happened, we asked another person about the vagaries of a tofu dish. They had forgotten. Then it finally arrived, when the rice had cooled off so that all was a bit spoiled. I have to say that the vegetables were fresh, so, I suppose, if you are not vegetarian you may eat well here. But 60 dollars for fried vegetables, a small fried rice dish and fried tofu...and not of exceptional quality, is, sincerely, a rip off. The last straw was when we went to pay and had one of those 25$ voucher from the NSW government. The restaurant is clearly listed as a participant in this opportunity to boost the NSW economy. Yet, we were told that the government was not refunding that specific restaurant. We found this to be strange and decidedly unexpected. We do not know now whether to trust the Government or the restaurant. A sad experience. We will never have dinner again here."
