"To cap off a very busy week, we took a trip to Glebe to try some authentic and fresh Vietnamese cuisine at the newly opened Hem Nine Nine. The name, which means Laneway 99, takes its inspiration from the streets of Saigon, where everyone lives in laneways along a large main road. We had three smaller dishes to start with – the Rice Paper Rolls, Crispy Netted Spring Rolls and Grilled Beef Skewers. Our favourite of the day was the spring rolls – they truly lived up to their description and were so crispy, with a good filling to pastry ratio, and an accompanying sauce that was tangy, but not too overpowering. They were best eaten by wrapping them in lettuce with a mint leaf tucked in to the parcel, and then dipped into sauce!"

"The first Iku I ever went to, and a reliable choice if ever in need of some ultra healthy macrobiotic food. Favorites include their muffins, the macro burger, the tempeh curry, the stuffed tofu pockets. Not the cheapest option but you are paying for fresh, quality ingredients."

"One of the worst dining experiences I've had. We had the degustation and it was terrible from start to finish - everything was bland, tasteless and poorly cooked. The scallops were chewy, pate was bland and served with slices of your average loaf of brown bread, and the pork belly gelatinous with crackling so chewy I couldn't cut it. The beef cheek was a tablespoon of stringy, tasteless beef on a bland cauliflower puree. The 'dessert platter' was a platter crammed with a few ramekins of burnt crumble, 2 horrible creme brûlées and a sickly sweet mango sorbet dumped alongside. The only above average item was the squid which was cooked very well, but oddly served with both a soy dressing and an aioli."
