"The Cupcake Room always delivers the most delicious cupcakes, with the prettiest decorations. I keep coming back again and again over many years and it just occurred to me I've never written a review! Extra points go to them for being completely nut free so all those kids with life altering nut allergies can have a treat without the danger and stress. "The brother or sister of Café Oratnek, this café can be found on Bourke street in Surry Hills. I went mid week so it wasn't too busy and so I was pretty lucky to be visiting on this day. Similar menu to that of Oratnek, it has lovely Japanese inspired dishes and lots of matcha. The popular dish is the katsu sandwich, but having eaten this before, the linguini took my fancy. It was flavoured with natto, okra, shisho, shallot, sesame, nori, soy and topped with a poached egg. It was absolutely delicious. I enjoyed the flavours. It was a little small possibly and would have loved another spoonful. I also got a matcha lamington which I took home to eat. A lovely flavor and light sponge. Staff were absolutely lovely!

"Enjoyable dinner in a cozy little restaurant. Stir-fry Wagyu beef was tasty and side-greens were fresh and crispy. Perfect location next to Messinas and couldn't resist gelato for dessert."

"Walked in on a wet Saturday morning and was greeted by friendly staff. Didn't have to ask for water, it was just bought to the table as we sat down. A varied menu from muesli to fully cooked. The Spanish omellete was delicious and filling. The coffee is great too. Has a great vibe to it. Very warm on a cold and wet day. Next time I am in Sydney and looking for a great place to eat I will head here."
