"The food was excellent and there was lots of it. It is rare these days when you walk away from a restaurant feeling fully satisfied. Service was generally courteous and efficient, although I did sit with an empty beer glass in front of me for twenty minutes - a cardinal sin!Both of us enjoyed all our three courses. Well cooked, true to description and well presented. Meat lovers paradise. Vegans need not bother. The wine list was limited, but obviously carefully and quite skillfully selected. You can't go past the Kozel dark beer, which is why I was so keen to get a second one. The initial wait time for entrees was a little too long, but once it was served, the rest of the meal was served in good order.We found the restaurant very noisy with the live band - we had to lean across the table to hear each other speak. However, when we raised the issue with Jerry, he cheerfully moved us to an outside table. The band themselves were very talented.The main disappointment from the evening was not from the restaurant or staff, but from the absolute bogans who disrespect a fine establishment by turning up in rubber thongs, vulgar board shorts and a dirty and torn flannel shirt. I saw at least three similarly dressed loud-mouthed ruffians during the evening. The place would benefit from at least a basic dress code. For that alone, I have deducted a point."

"After hearing some positive feedback about this venue a group 6 of us decided to try it out. BYO option for wine was great, allowing us to bring a high quality Shiraz for much less than the bottle price of a restaurant. The ambience is...simple and rather hot without the AC on in North Queensland at this time of year. The spiced chicken legs were delicious as an entree and were improved by the duck pancakes for main would have appreciated some additional sauce as this ran out quickly . Overall everyone was pleased with their dishes for a total bill of approximately 210 meant everyone enjoyed dinner for approx. 35 each."

"A group of 5 of us enjoyed the degustation dinner for a birthday dinner treat and we have only praise for the whole experience!The staff were friendly, helpful and gave excellent service. The five courses of the degustation menu were each tasty and beautifully presented and "just the right amount" - the wines perfectly matched.We especially appreciated the personalised dessert plate for the birthday girl!The room we were in had the added entertainment of being able to watch our plates being "plated up" - such care and attention being paid to each creation.The atmosphere there is also great - we felt very comfortable.My husband and I have visited here previously for dinner and found it to be fantastic last time too.Can't wait to go back and do this again!Thank you so much to all the staff there for such a lovely night. You do a fantastic job!"

"Ordered the Wagyu Beef Burger with fries and Aoli dipping sauce. Lunchtime Service in the front bar area on a weekday. Counter service attendant was quick to come serve me, but seemed like he didn't enjoy his job. Meal came quickly and the burger was very big. Burger Patty was pink inside, but mostly Luke warm at best. Not sure if it was cooked earlier and heated again, but I didn't like it. Burger tasted alright, but Patty was a bit of a miss. Chips were average to good, but Aoli sauce was bland and a little abnormal tasting. Aoli sauce dish was not clean, so I left it alone. For amount paid, I was expecting a little better quality. Overall, average at best. Will try somewhere else...read more"
