"Called in on spec as were in the area meeting family for drinks. Really nice little chippy in the centre of town serving quality chips, chicken nuggets, sausage, peas and gravy in plentiful amounts in a nice friendly place. A recommend from us and would call again !"

"Christmas Lunch Menu is available at Ness Gardens Botanic Kitchen Cafe between 1st and 22nd December 2021. Bookings and pre-orders only available. 2 courses with coffee and mince pie for £15.95 or 3 courses with coffee and mince pie for £18.95. Four of us have enjoyed an excellent Christmas lunch at Ness Gardens Cafe today. From the choice of three starters we had three of the creamy roast chestnut soup topped with crispy red onions and served with bread and butter and 1 ham hock terrine served on a watercress salad with piccalilli. For the main course from the three alternatives we all had the traditional roast turkey served with roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, stuffing, pig in blanket, gravy and cranberry sauce. For desserts from the 3 choices on offer we had 3 of the Irish cream Liqueur Tiramisu and 1of the traditional Christmas pudding with brandy sauce. Coffee and mince pies were included in the price to finish with. Everything was beautifully cooked and presented. The staff were welcoming and attentive and the service was very efficient. All in all the meal was an excellent experience and great value for money in a really nice venue. Free parking is available and the building has good disabled facilities."

"Wow, food is first class. Reasonably priced, staff are brilliant. Our visit this time we were served by “Charlie”,very knowledgeable about the menu and wine on order. Easy to book, on line, especially for a technical Luddite like me. Go eat you will not be disappointed."

"I went with friend from overseas originally the bar staff where going to serve then insisted on seeing id of my friend who was 27 years old he showed copy of passport on telephone as not take original passport out and not accept ID felt the welcome was very cold and unwelcoming and have been here before but would never come again there seem to be underlying issue but anyway would not rate this pub as most welcoming in chester certsainly would not win in terms of hospitality"

"What a lovely find! Not enough good reviews on this place. We came it across it staying at local hotel and what a great find it was. We turned up Friday night to a full pub and not booking but managed to squeeze us in and had a lovely meal. We were so impressed we went back Saturday after the races but booked before arriving. The meals were fantastic and boiling hot. The menu has a great selection and all freshly prepared. If you are thinking of going anywhere near it’s worth getting a Uber in and book before arriving. Thank you for an enjoyable experience and all the best! Hats off to the chef"

"Had a fantastic mid week lunch. The ploughman’s was excellent, plenty of ham and cheese and a delicious local pork pie. Great selection of hot and cold sandwiches, my wife had the bacon and Brie panini which was also delicious. There was a desert cabinet but we didn’t try any , but all looked home cooked and very inviting. Staff super friendly and everywhere was spotlessly clean. Saw the staff sweep under tables several times as well as wipe the tables down as soon as people next to us left. Will definitely be returning."
