"We often purchase from here so handy when travelling on the train, also purchase when out in the town and take home. Quick service when no queues, excellent chicken and the chips aren't bad. In the night it's only take away and all tables and chairs are turned upside down, which isn't really nice to see, you can see the grime under the tables then. Staff are nice"

"We visited a car today and were led to the Abbey Suite. it was the functional room where the tables were set up strangely, we booked our high time here almost a few eyars back, but the room was too big. that worked in... favored today, as we had a head job that we had a child and a young child in the tow. there was a lot of space around our table and it didn't feel cramped at all. the appetizers and the Carvery mains were delicious. beautiful selection of meat and delicious veg and gravy to go with it. I believe that the personal deserves a mention, as we are very attentive, but not to carry it. we didn't feel rushed, which is operated in others unfortunately too often. all in all, a very pleasant visit and I would not have reservations to return in the near future"

"Have visited many times and have always found staff exceptionally friendly and food very wholesome. No difference on this occasion, with excellent with omelette and home made rice pudding. What I was disappointed with was being charged 45p for a small pot of jam to go with the rice. Come on guys, it should have been free, £1.90 for the pudding should cover the costs. But to then charge 45p daylight robbery!"

"Very disappointed, you'd expect the windows to be pristine in a restaurant but they were disgusting all the time we were there. Menu does not change! Anyone staying more than a couple of days will go elsewhere. Very expensive food, waited an hour for a steak that was tiny and tough for 26 . No vegetables served with it just a sauce and chips. Fish and chips 14.95 they were okay but not worth the price, there's a great chippy around the corner! Menu was boring and expensive. Coach passengers received a far better menu than we did, a roast dinner. I feel every restaurant should offer a nice roast dinner on the menu. Breakfast was okay, BUT the old fashioned toaster was extremely slow, it took 3 4 minutes to very lightly toast one side of the bread, it needed to be put through a second time however someone else has put bread in so we couldn't make a decent slice of toast on the mornings we were there. Why not invest in a couple of 4 slice toasters to make it easier for everyone? Teas and coffees were outside the dining room so you had to go and get your own, it would be nice if staff brought refills around. The coffee seemed watered down to me, very poor. I could not in all honesty recommend this restaurant. Long wait for food, coaches got priority."
