"We were very excited for our first visit to Golden Fleece but the experience was far from expectations. We were seated over 45 minutes after our reservation time and watched two other groups actually walk out. There is no waiting space, so everyone waiting for a table was squeezed into the entry way which actually hovers over one of the dining tables. The hostess was unfriendly and disappeared frequently for long periods of time, leaving new groups who entered wondering what was going on. When we were finally seated, the experience felt so rushed. We were eating our two appetizers when our entrees appeared at the table. We were seated for less time than we waited for a table. Dishes were sold out which is understandable but it only added to the disappointment. The food was good but there are so many wonderful restaurants in Asheville for foodies that we can?t say we will be back."

"My friend researched restaurants to celebrate my birthday knew it had to be maine lobster. the background on this restaurant was perfect, but the reality was disappointing. my lobster roll was filled with salat, with lobster pieces on top. I get more lobsters from the lobster truck of the cousin, for half the price! the server was great. I hope the owners/partners take to know that this could be a great restaurant, but it needs some attention. it is wonderful to get maine lobster in asheville, but the small details can make a restaurant or break."

"Usually this place is freaking awesome!! Lately it has not been good. The food has been subpar at best. I got a Philly Sub and it wasn't as good as it usually is. Then I tried again and got a large spaghetti plate since its usually enough for my wife myself. Not great and not up to their normal standards. I'm disappointed!!"

"The best of the best I had on my short trip to asheville. our waiter (I think his name is graham) was sooo awesome! he knew exactly what he did was so friendly, and was really a perfect waiter overall. the food was so good. it was pretty packed, they sat down right below us and our food came out super fast. I'm just proud of this restaurant! highly recommended!"

"I've never been to this restaurant before and if I am able I definitely will be back in the future. I wish we had this in WI! I've had kabobs before but not the other stuff, I had the roasted corn and turmeric rice with the chicken kabob. It was great! The staff was very friendly and the restaurant very clean."
