"I think I heard the waiter say Browne's has been dispensing four-star meals for the past 34 years to the Uptown crowd? Why do I call it Venerable? Perhaps the advanced age of most of the folks there for lunch. The middle of the road menu, the Cajun spices described as gently spiced. The prices which suggest their margins are healthy and they will make it past 34 years. Maybe even the two Catholic priests who seemed to be conspicuous regulars. It was a good feeling, the way I remember the middle 80s, when Bill Davis was Premier and the world seemed like a less aggressive place."

"We decided on Casa B. for a birthday dinner because we were in Barcelona a year ago and wanted to revisit without taking a flight.We (4 adults) decided on a combo dinner for 4; The Valencia combo. On top of that we ordered a couple tapas starters: GALICIA : Calamari Stuffed With Crab Meat, Piquillo Pepper Sauceand also grilled octopus.Both starters were very good. I felt there could have been a little more octopus on the plate but I may have had Spain on the brain. We shared a litre of house red. Tempranillo. It was a nice light smooth wine served in a very nice carafe.We switched out the chicken ravioli for the short ribs on our combo. You are allowed one switch on the combo dinners. We should have stuck with the ravioli. The short ribs were not up to par with the rest of the dishes. Tasty but too chewy. The braised veal was very good, tender and generous in size.The cab cakes were good and also had a some heat (in the sauce).The rest of the dishes were all quite good. The Ontario lamb was very good. Casa B. serves only Ontario lamb.The Paella was very good and had plenty of seafood.Service was very good.It wasn't too busy so I can't say how it would be a very busy night.Only one of us had dessert (the birthday girl) and she loved it. It was chocolate mouse with a few nice 'surprises'. I gave Casa B. 4 stars because it was very good. If half stars were an option I would have gone 4.5. We saw some menu items we'd like to try so will be going back sometime to try them.I selected fine dining for the price point which I think is fair but for that we did have a lot of meat and seafood. Dinner for 4 with wine, extra starters incl. tip was $80 per person. For that, 3 large men and one not large lady were quite stuffed."

"Great experience! Some dishes really stand out (below), large portions, good value-for-money. GREAT SERVICE from the staff, especially Elisa thanks! First some deets. Not a huge dining area: about 6 tables seating 2-4 each. If busy, there’s a long bar table facing the open kitchen, seats 6-8. Patio’s a good option this time of year: about 4 tables seating 2-4 each. Order at the counter (for both dine in takeout). They’ll give you a number and bring the food to you when it’s ready. The food! Lobster Roll is the clear go-to: big chunks, fresh, a touch of spice for some kick. Grilled Octopus is a winner but eat it right away or it gets too chewy. For fried fans, go for the Halibut. All fixings are top notch: tartar sauce coleslaw esp. (btw it’s a dry coleslaw, which personally I prefer)."
