"My friend researched restaurants to celebrate my birthday knew it had to be maine lobster. the background on this restaurant was perfect, but the reality was disappointing. my lobster roll was filled with salat, with lobster pieces on top. I get more lobsters from the lobster truck of the cousin, for half the price! the server was great. I hope the owners/partners take to know that this could be a great restaurant, but it needs some attention. it is wonderful to get maine lobster in asheville, but the small details can make a restaurant or break."

"The atmosphere was noteworthy — warm and lively without being crowded, a fire going on the patio, a nice volume level. A wonderful space for a date night or celebration dinner. The service was good — what you’d expect for an establishment of that caliber. The food was, sadly, a serious letdown — we tried 6 dishes and found only 1 of them to be worth ordering again. The mussels were truly spectacular, perfectly done with a flavorful and interesting broth. Unfortunately, everything else disappointed. The radicchio and gnocchi were both very one-note and lacked balance, the pork chop was significantly over-salted, and the chocolate tres leches and beef tartare were mediocre. Not what we expected from the admiral at all, and quite a bummer!"

"This spot will always be a must-do when we come to Asheville. Go early if you can and prepare to wait a bit, although we were seated within 10 minutes which was a nice surprise. Food was delicious as always and we just love the wholesome vibe and the fact that everyone seems to love their job."

"Sloooowwwww. We arrived at 10:35-40 for our reservation at 10:45. We didn't get our food until around 11:40 good thing we weren't starving. Service wasn't great, food wasn't worth the price. I've been to one of these before and I don't remember it being this bad. So unfortunate it was disappointing considering it was my parents anniversary trip. My dad who never complains was not thrilled his grits had gotten cold. Mom thought her shrimp and grits tasted good. My chicken and waffles weren't anything to brag about the portion of chicken was much smaller than I remember."
