"I visited the Marlborough Hotel on Saturday night, as the venue turns into a very busy nightclub. During the night, after returning from a bathroom break, I was approached by a security guard who'd decided I had to leave. I questioned his reasoning, as I hadn't stumbled/slurred/interacted in an intoxicated manner. During our conversation, another disgruntled security bounds over to join the debate. Considering the capacity of inebriated patrons at the venue, my discussion with security.1 really shouldn't have caught the attention of bored security no.2, but that's beside the point. With no legitimate rebuttal at hand, security no.2 GRABS MY PURSE from under my arm and proceeds to walk off through the the venue and outside. I'm not sure where The Marlborough Hotel trains their security, but stealing personal property to have a patron leave for illegitimate reasons doesn't feel ethical to me. The security feel a sense of entitlement that they really don't deserve.It isn't ok for security to kick someone out without a liable reason and it certainly isn't ok to grab personal property as an incentive to have that individual removed. The Marlborough does have redeeming qualities (bar staff were great, the live music is fantastic) so I don't want to bash the entire venue, however, the security have completely tainted my opinion of the place."

"I tend to love the atmosphere and the decor in Mexican restaurants. They are usually colorful, with a bar-like, funny atmosphere. Calaveras was not different. Great place for drinks and winding after a long week. <br>
Grief
To share, we ordered the Guacamole, some Tacos and the beef Fajita. Guacamole was fresh and a big starter. I would have liked to serve a whole (or 2) alone. The plates of Tacos came next with a mixture of pulled pork, chicken and fish; And I could not help the Tacos very small. Anyway, taste way, they were decent, but were not excellent. They all seemed to create the same from the red sauce. They were spicy, but lacked these Mexican flavors I was thereafter. The beef strips for the Fajitas came across some rice + 3 tortillas on the side (which serves with restaurants in odd numbers). Fajita was okay, spicy, although I did not like the bovine strips were cut too fine. They reminded me of minced meat and saw more ...

"The train wasn't going at 1:20pm on a Saturday and the place was pretty empty...I'd just walked past Sushi Train up the road and they were packed so I don't what the problem was here. The upshot was that I had to order off the menu. You can order the train-sized serves of sushi, sashimi and basic rolls but the prices were higher than any other trains that I can think of. Fancy rolls were only sold as the whole thing or in a set so you'd be having a single order as your meal or sharing among a group (I got a set that combined sushi and rolls and reduced the price a fair bit, so look at them). And then it took 25 minutes for the food to come out. They have a decent alcohol list but no tap beer. The fish was good quality, maybe the best in Newtown, but the whole experience was poor value."

"Pretty average in comparison to other Mexican places like Mad Mex and Guzman Y Gomez. <br>
Upon browsing the menu i was disappointed to find that enchiladas were not a thing here and settled for a chipotle chicken fajita instead (which seemed similar to an enchilada). <br>
My partner ordered the mucho burrito (which he said was okay but nothing spectacular). We also ordered chili con carne nachos to share. I also got a watermelon margarita. <br>
When ordering i specifically asked for my fajita to have no rice or beans in it but extra chicken instead (i was willing to pay extra) however when my food arrived it had rice inside. By then though i could not be bothered to ask them to fix it as the food took long enough to arrive and everyone would have finished eating by the time they fixed my order up. <br>
There were no outstanding flavours in the meal, everything tasted pretty average. I would say i enjoyed the margarita more than the food. <br>
If i were to return, it would be purely for the customer service (which was really welcoming and friendly despite how long they take to bring food to you) and the watermelon margarita."

"Don't know why this place got such a good rating! I had the fish taco with soft tortilla and it was drenched in oil... you could literally spoon the oil at the bottom of your plate. The fish was not crispy either ????♀️????♀️????♀️????♀️<br>
Lucky I'm not paying for it"
