"The food itself was just OK - way too salty, small portions, miso soup was basically plain broth and the California rolls only had a small bit of over shredded crab meat. Service was terrible, sat waiting for menus for close to 10 minutes, finally went and picked them up from the cash register - the girl there just looked at me, didn't say anything at all... Decided what we wanted within 2 minutes, again sat waiting for 10 minutes, nobody even took notice of us until I stood up. It was like our table of 3 were invisible. They were not that busy and another table that came in after us were served and eating before we were. Not once did either of the waitresses stop by our table to see if we had everything or if we wanted drinks or whatever... Lots of good Asian places to go in Victoria, I'd skip this one."

"I always thought of Nautical Nellie?s as a tourist trap but after going here for their new brunch launch, I have changed my mind. The food was actually really well prepared, the flavours were balanced, the dishes were different and interesting and theowner and chef truly are trying to show Victoria how much they care. Prices were reasonable and in some cases lower thancomparable restaurants and cocktails and non-alcoholic choices were also well made. I?ll be back for brunch again for sure."

"I tried this gem of a restaurant last week for lunch with a friend. We both had the sushi/sashimi lunch and it was superb. The miso soup was excellent, as was the tea! I have been back 2 more times for lunch and loved everything I have had so far. The staff are very friendly and efficient and food is fresh and beautifully presented. I can't wait to go back for dinner! At last a restaurant worth eating at in Broadmead Village!"

"Low key place for good sushi with reasonable prices. They also make the best beef udon noodle soup I've had in Victoria. Great for fresh sushi to go as well. Open 10-7, closed Sundays."

"Just came back from a wonderful lunch at Osaka. I took my wife as she had never been. The thing I like about Osaka is that it is always consistently good. The menu has a wide range of sushi, sashimi, teriyaki and tempura plus lots other Japanese dishes.But for my money nothing beats the Bento box. They have a special Bento for each day of the week, pork, chicken,beef , tempura etc. Today I had the teriyaki beef bento and my wife had a tofu bento. You get miso, rice and a salad plus never ending Japanese tea. Everything is made fresh on site and is well portioned. My wife who is a recent convert to Japanese food devoured her Bento and loved it. Mine was excellent as I added tempura on the side accompanies by an Anahi Beer.For the two of us with up it was just about $30, full value for the meal we had. The service is very attentive and the two servers were very friendly and helpful. We will go back for sure"

"Amazing! Food was very, very good and everyone was incredibly friendly. Our first visit and they were patient with us, price was reasonable, good portions and very clean. Definitely a return visit will be needed next time we are in town."
