Contribute FeedbackSushi Island in Victoria offers a mixed dining experience, with some diners finding the food over salted and lacking in quality, while others rave about the tasty rolls and fresh ingredients. Service seems hit or miss, with some reporting long wait times and neglect from staff, while others praise the friendly and efficient service. The atmosphere is nothing special, but the quality and taste of the food remains a strong point for many diners. Overall, Sushi Island may be worth a try for those looking for a quick and budget-friendly sushi fix, but it may not be the best option for a memorable dining experience.
It was OK. Rolls were overstuffed with filler making them look 10x bigger then they probably should have been maybe to justify the rather high price? The wait staff were so busy getting take out orders together that the in house customers were ignored ~3/4 of the restaurant was full). Anyway... won't be back.
Hadn’t been in a few years but food was still great, sashimi was fresh! I think staff was a bit over their heads with a full restaurant and only two staff, they felt a bit run off their feet but did their best.
Amazing experience. Visiting from Vancouver and this place is by far the best place for sushi I have found in Vancouver and Victoria combined. Awesome rolls, variety, fresh, and tastes amazing. Great customer service as well. Highly recommend.
This restaurant is a gem. Always guaranteed great value and friendly service. Highly recommend.Note the decor isn't fancy but it's welcoming.
We visited a nearby sushi restaurant with family for a late dinner and ordered 30 pieces of salmon sushi and a Dragon Roll. We were amazed when the food arrived after just 10 minutes, and the presentation was exceptionally neat. The salmon tasted very fresh too. The service was fast, but the only downside was that we couldn 't capture and share this wonderful presentation with our phones. Additionally, we ordered 10 more pieces and I 'm leaving this review out of gratitude. The restaurant has a somewhat old-fashioned vibe, but I highly recommend their food.
