"We went for Sunday lunch. Very busy and not enough staff. Our table was very cramped for 5 plus 2 dogs which we did mention when booking. Got one of the orders wrong. Added cheese to the vegan gnocchi! So it did not instill confidence that the vegan options are truly vegan or not contaminated. Could have been very unhelpful for anyone with a dairy allergy. The plant based burger was not good value. Came with a tiny portion of fries. Nice place for a drink and nibbles maybe but not full meal again, not good value for money"

"This was my family birthday lunch for 10 7 adult 3 children. we booked the table and no one arrived at the door, so suspected that they have to go into the bar yo ask them about their table we did. saw some time at the table and sat and sat and then sat finally to take the commands. food came, but we had ordered a child's meal, that ended the last to not come well. we finished waiting and waited and waited until the tellers could be collected, I had to ask if they were cleaned. then desserts not many two were the mini with coffee. a coffee came then, we waited for the others never arrived to go into more details, but the service is something to be sorted out. it should be a server that is assigned to specific tables, then customers do not have to wait all the time so long. I can only say the service is 2 stars eating 4 stars."

"Staff are friendly and helpful, the place is lovely and relaxing for lunch, really appreciate the relaxed unrushed atmosphere, the downside was the food. I ordered the plaice it was served with samphire. It was so salty i could not eat it. The treacle tart was great though, very generous helping with clotted cream lovely. Overall good, just dont go for fab food"

"Excellent Sunday lunchtime visit for my birthday yesterday! Great service cosy ambiance, enhanced by the fabulous open fire. Three generously portioned roast lunches cooked to perfection. Lovely to see vegetables that haven't been crucified! Desserts to die for especially chef's homemade salted caramel ice cream! Highly recommended."
