"This is a wonderful stop for refreshments and good food on the north shore of Rice Lake. We were impressed with how nice this place is and how friendly the service was. While it is not a big spot it has lots to offer and is very clean, modern and bright with First Nations hospitality and good prices. Be sure to fill up and save around 10 cents a litre and check out the gift shop for some unique offerings at very good prices. There is also camping nearby."

"We are always looking for a good one to come along. We've tried numerous places but always cane away disappointed. Either the fries were frozen or the batter wasn't cooked well.A friend recommended Captains so we tried it. Our server was friendly and helpful. I am very sensitive to canola oil and asked to taste the breading. She agreed and we sat down. We ordered the one serving Haddock with fries and coleslaw. Our order arrived quickly. The fries were fresh cut and crunchy, not greasy. The coleslaw was creamy and fantastic. The fish was well cooked, the batter crunchy and flavourful. We were thrilled. Finally a really good fish n' chips place to suit our picky taste buds!!Definitely will return and try something new!!"

"So it always makes me wonder when you ask for their opinion on what to order and the respond with, everything's good. I ordered the gyro dinner. My problem was watching the owners daughter. She had one glove on, handled money from my order. I then watched her use the non glove hand that just handled money, touch someone else's hamburger buns, fries etc. I asked her, why not two gloves? She said why? I responded if your going to use both hands to make food, wouldn't you wear two gloves? She said what did I touch? I said i just watched you touch the buns, fries. She said I can, my hands are clean. They were not. She did not wash her hand after I paid her in cash. Glad the older owner made my meal. Food was good, but I am really disappointed in the response from the women. Just own it, remake the buns, and let it be a reminder that germs are huge especially during covid!"
