"Tucked away and unassuming.... Love the place.. I look after dogs and the staff and management are fabulous whenever we visit whether we have four legs with us or not..... Food is fab... Great beer and homely atmosphere a 'proper ' pub! We love it......"

"We go here about twice a year. Today being our next visit. The food is excellent as is the service. When you are seated you have your table for the night in the relaxed atmosphere which is very nice. I also like that if you go in a larger group the table is square so every one can speak with each other. Would highly recommend and I would say one of the best restaurants in Chorley Wigan"

"I love this place,it's my go to cafe when at Rivington. Always busy and great staff. Food all cooked fresh and always good. I had really nice cheese on toast with two rashers of bacon. It was excellent and really cheap.. superb cafe"

"This is a hidden gem in Chorley. We had afternoon tea, which included a choice of sandwich and either a scone with cream and jam, or a slice a cake (which was huge) and pouring cream, as well as tea or coffee. The food is excellent, the staff are lovely and the tea room is gorgeous. We would definitely recommend."

"We’ve been visiting the Boars Head for a fair few years now and have never really had a bad visit. That still stands now with my birthday visit in January being consistent with their beautiful cheese pie being a favourite. It’s never changed and remains so very tasty. My latest visit on Monday had me ordering the also (normally) consistently perfect fish and chips. My previous reviews have held up the Boars Head fish and chips as being the best for quite some miles due to the perfectly seasoned batter that isn’t too thickly applied. Unfortunately the recipe was changed on this visit (I hope it was just a blip) with a thick batter that was slightly bitter. I removed it and just ate the lovely fish. I didn’t complain as it wasn’t bad but I’m hoping my next visit will be a return to the perfect fish and chips that I know. Here’s hoping."
