"I was here three nights. I liked the castle hotel very much. I stayed with my two dogs and family members. the hotel is very dog friendly. the room we had was beautiful and had character that was great plus a large bathroom. tea and coffee facilities were appreciated. perhaps the best about the castle hotel the restaurant. Eating was great, we had a night dinner and was very happy with it. the breakfast was great again and a lot of it. I would stay in the opposite again."

"The Moat is a beautiful pub/restaurant I went there for a meal with my partner, we booked which was advised and was lucky as it filled up fast and no wonder, the food was beautiful, cooked to perfection and was reasonably priced. The only slight let down was the waitresses, there was only two on and once you had your food you were forgot a little, I waited for another drink during my meal. That said I would definately try it again and reccommend it to everyone to try"

"Bases on the positive Tripadvisor reviews, and the look of the place through the window, my partner and I gave this place a go. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a let down. The food was bland at best. The garlic bread with cheese was not pleasant at all and left us with a bitter taste. The calamari was also tasteless and saved only by the garlic mayonnaise. My risotto main was slightly better but again, failed to inspire, with the porcini mushrooms just a mush. The other main (carbonara) was poor by all accounts. All that and two beers for around £80 when a trip to Pizza Express would have yielded better food for around £55. When we go out, we want the food to be better than what we serve up at home. In this case it was well off the mark."

"The food is absolutely AMAZING, this is now one of my favourite restaurants. Staff was very friendly and approachable, the wait for the food is not long. The atmosphere is very relaxed, cosy and vibrant. I am writing this review in the car on the way back from the White Hart and I already cannot wait to be back"

"Held a wake here for my Dad. In the run up to the event they were very helpful, asking how we wanted the room arranged, offering different options, happy to accommodate veggie/allergy options. When we arrived after the funeral everything was spot on. Ready and prepared on arrival but also freshly made. The food was lovely, great value and plentiful. It’s a big cut above normal pub grub so we were happy with. They also provided standard cocktail sausage and chips options for kids. This is a family run pub, we were made to feel very welcome. During the wake the daughter was managing things, making sure the urn tea was full, helping some of our elderly guests with the buffet. She was really friendly, a good host, but also very discreet until needed, so we we had privacy. I seriously recommend this pub and hope to rerun again on a happier occasion."
