"Their checkout line is brilliant- one person puts the sushi order together, another person gets any extras in the back like miso soup, and another person"

"This was my first meal upon reaching Sydney as its also situated conveniently in CBD ORdered their flagship tiger pie and the huge hot dog. Both filled with overflowing mashed peas, making me believe that is their specialty. Well in a way the flavor is...ok mainly covered with their sauces Portion is huge and price is reasonable in Australian context Im not a fan of peas but having it mashed is ok, hence i felt healthy eating it Will recommend it to others There are few seats around the place but filled with giant pigeons which aint afraid of humans, so be wary Like if you find it helpful thanks"

"Very few Asian/Indian/Thai restaurants actually dare to push out the boat and keep true to truly “Authentic food” in the West.As much as they would love to cook and present Asian food with their original levels of spice and heat levels, the fact remains that they would be then left with only a core group of customers. However the reality is that this group sits on an extreme of the bell curve and is a small number and it is really the moderates, who like the thought of eating at an “Authentic Asian food joint” but can handle only watered down spice contents, that constitute the majority. It is this majority that keeps most restaurants profitable by repeat orders. Why this lengthy introduction? Most restaurants for obvious reasons, prefer repeat customers and so will do all they can to preserve an “Authentic” label, however when it comes to the food, they chicken out and add copious amounts of yoghurt or water or cream to dilute the effect of the spices.Either that , or they just go down the tried and tested route of “Westernising the menu” which means minimal oil/frying/spices.And in the process become boring and bland..Very few actually stick to the original and native formula and keep the food unaltered and it takes a hell of a lot of time to find a restaurant that has the courage to stick to the authentic stuff. This is where Petaling stands out.No fancy décor just basic tables and benches/chairs, no silly decorating or arranging food in fanciful patterns on the plate. This is street food at its most authentic where the ethic is just “Am hungry, will eat” and so there isn’t the time or inclination to discuss food formations on a plate. For those of you who would like to discuss food and appreciate the ambience while sipping costly wine, head to my review on “The Aria” another restaurant, great food and décor. But all ye core food grubbies who actually love to eat crazy fire cracker spiced truly authentic Asian food, go to the Petaling. There is the most delicious meat curry with Parathas and a dozen dishes of fish served floating in a curry base and expect to sweat profusely while slobbering away and enjoying the spicy fish and rice. There is no shortage of choices with the mains and it will take a while to figure out the menu. The only let down is in the desserts.Naturally after eating a shed load of spice and oil the next urge would be to down some desserts.Which are a let down here as there are a few desserts of which I forget the name, but at best they are relatively tasteless and instead of having dessert at this place,I would head outside turn right on George Street and go to one of the cafes and get some chocolate cake. However apart from the disappointment with the desserts, the mains and starters more than make up."

"I was heading into Central Station, when I suddenly felt hungry, and stepped into Oporto for a bite!

There was a bit of crowd, and the ambiance was kinda dull. I went for the veggie burger with chips and drink. The burger was good, as always. But the chips tasted raw, and were not fried enough.

This is not really an Oporto I would recommend. Mediocre at best

Food - 2.5/5
Ambiance - 2.5/5
Service - 4/5
Value for money - 3.5/5
Overall - 3/5"

"Love this place - it greets you on your way to work and it's there for you after a big night and you have a 2 hour wait for a train. I'm all for disgusting greasy fast food as it has it's place and I've sampled most of the menu and can't recommend enough the chicken shish, chiko rolls, crab sticks and chicken chips for a quick fix to help ween the alcohol out of your system. The burger with the lot is king in terms of fast food standards and ocassionally depending on the time of day, the chicken is hit and miss and can be dry. But i like the old guy who serves me everytime I'm there which is why I'll take my chances everytime."
