"Delicious Dunkel (dark beer), potentially one of my favorites in Berlin. The beer was smooth with excellent flavor, just delicious! The only food I ate here was a grilled sausage which was also great. I would have given 5 stars but twice when I tried...to get into the restaurant I was greeted with some harsh looks and just a flat out No so the I had to reduce it to 4 stars for what at-least felt like being turned away for being American."

"A weekend that keeps the family remembered for a long time. With 25 adults and 14 children we enjoyed the stay.The rooms were generous and lovingly designed.It was remarkable that we all got our food at the same time and that in an excellent quality.The service was very attentive every time.We felt very comfortable!"

"The way to the stage led us here. We expected a friendly service, a place in a pleasant atmosphere and a menu that promised good-bourgeois cuisine. The wine list provided information about the open wines. My accompaniment chose the, as it turned out, a boring Primitivo, I chose the Yburg-Riesling. No experience that honored the name of this place. The appetizer board, which was able to go through as a culinary standard in Berlin, was as disappointing as the sweet prepared cheese plate, which was joined together without any sense of composition and was overpriced with 12 euros. The evening could only save us Brecht's mother, who experienced a beautiful staging in the show stage."

"Quite torn with the rating. On the one hand, the food is amazing and the beer is simply superb, nice and cosy German spot in the heart of Braunschweig. Been eating here every time I’m in town, which has been happening fairly regularly over the last 7 years. On the other hand, however, there is one particularity rude waitress over there that ruins the entire, otherwise exceptional, experience. Felt like being a burden to her, having the audacity to place an order or making too complicated of a request. Not even a simple thank you, quite contrary, aggressive and intimidating attitude all over. She was almost throwing our ordered beer glasses on the table, surprised she did not spill any. Must have been year of practice in beer throwing I suppose. I will definitely come back but will be trying to find a time she is off or the area in the restaurant she is not serving next time."

"Disappointing stay. The rooms were very basic. The walls were thin enough to hear phone notifications 3 rooms away and the traffic outside. We might as well have had no pillow with how flat it was. Unstable furniture. Shared bathroom. As for the restaurant on site, when we checked in, we had to pre-order our food for the night, which is very unusual. When we arrived at the restaurant after waiting for our time slot, we still had to wait a while, and our food came out literally ice cold on dirty dishes..yuck! When confronted, the staff seemed displeased that we complained about frozen vegetables and food floating in our beers. The kitchen staff didn 't speak German or English very well and seemed unsure about their own menu. When ordering dessert, we received only a part of what was listed on the menu, and when we nicely told them we wanted what we ordered, they started talking loudly about us in the kitchen. All food was premade food that somehow got messed up. The photos on Google for the food are not updated, so we were expecting quality food and good portions. Very uncomfortable and disappointing experience. There are not many restaurants in Elend, so I suggest eating before you arrive. The included breakfast was okay, but the food (vegetables, lunch meat, cheese) was left sitting out, and the coffee mugs were dirty. The only perk to this hotel is the normally 5-minute short trip to the train station to get to the Brocken summit. However, the road in Elend is currently blocked and requires a 23-minute detour. Pay €10 more and get a better hotel in the outskirts. Rooms: Tiny, uncomfortable, loud. Food drinks: Unsantiary, frozen, small portions."
