"Just don’t bother going here. The food was awful and that’s once we all had our food. One person was left waiting ages for a salad, they must have popped next door to Waitrose to buy it. Service was non existent, so we had to ask for the basic like sauces. Roast dinners were terrible and didn’t even come with roast potatoes, the beef was tough as boots. The fish and chips was practically no fish and just batter with chips. I would never eat here again. Don’t waste your money trying this place."

"My family and I had Sunday lunch here, firstly i have to say how miserable and unwelcoming the staff are, they seem to spend the whole time out the back, so everytime i wanted service i had to go to the bar and shout. The food was presented nicely and was hot but nothing special, it obviously had been kept warm for some time. I was going to have dessert but there was no staff around to order. My opinion is there are better cheaper places for sunday lunch."

"The setting is traditionally beautiful, the service was good, but the food... it really was terrible. Menu seemed to be 20 years out of date, boasting local produce (fresh asparagus in November?! . The main course was horrendous, cold vegetables (on cold plates , a fillet steak that could not be cut even with a steak knife (I had to leave 3/4 of it as it was inedible and a lasting taste of weird truffle pate that lingered for the rest of the evening. Not wanting to make a fuss in front of a room full of diners, I discreetly asked one of the waiting staff to advise the chef that the steak was too chewy to eat. I don’t think she let the chef know as my comment was not followed up. We paid our bill and left without daring to sample dessert! Such a massive disappointment (and a pricey one for inedible food ."
