"Ordered take away tonight and the staff told us it would be 20-30 mins which was ok as it was a Friday night. Nothing to fancy Cantonese noodles, fried rice and noodles (ho fun) asked for no prawns but extra Chinese sausage. After waiting around...75 mins for our order I didn’t get any prawns in the noodles but I also didn’t get any Chinese sausage which is the star of the dish. If you have that many orders then just say it’s going to be an hours wait."

"Malayan visits orchid twice last week during work in Bendigo. It was during the Elvis show at Art Gallery, so it was almost impossible to get a table somewhere in View Street. When I first came at 8.30, I could only get a table without booking. The (new? front of house manager was fantastic and very hospitable, how was Pam when I last visited Pre-Covid. Both food and beverage service has improved for several years, less fussy, faster, simple menu etc. The wine list offers some great drops like the Mandurang Merlot at just $8 a glass. Bress Chardonnay is also excellent and very "priced". Premium wines to 'house wine' prices, this for $12 have seen a glass not far from there. The beef-endang share was huge, a considerable amount of beef considering that this is reduced for many hours. Small fried rice small part also very generous. The staff was above all under pressure. Thanks to the young man who worked the front counter who called me when a table was available as I had a booking a few nights later. Delicious food. Bookings are probably essential for the next few months."

"Was recommended to me by a friend to go to while in Bendigo. Gorgeous old house turned into a cafe. Food was delicious, staff friendly and had indoor and outdoor eating spaces. Big servings and reasonably priced. Definately worth a visit. We went for breakfast."

"We chose this place because of good reviews on TripAdvisor, the restaurant was busy but we managed to get a table. We shared a serve of pan fried pork dumplings and they were delicious, but I'm sorry to say it was downhill from there. Sweet and sour chicken in batter had a sweet tasteless sauce on it and a table spoon of pineapple and capsicum. We also chose the chefs special of salt and pepper spicy pork ribs, umm this dish of battered strips of something came out with crispy fried garlic and small bits of rice noodles and ??? Something else over the top. I asked the waitress if this was the pork ribs? She was unsure but then said ohh yes. If not for the fried garlic this dish also wouldn't have any flavor. My partner and I had almost finished our meal when the special fried rice arrived, I would say this was the worst fried rice I've ever had. It had what looked like chunks of SPAM in it. I recon the school tuck shop could make it better. We were so disappointed and left vowing never to return for anything apart from the dumplings. Maybe that's why they are called a dumpling house and not a Chinese restaurant."
