"Went here with a group of friends. The place was completely crowded which usually is a good sign. But it was crowded with a large group. Not sure how busy otherwise ?I felt very sorry for the ONE server in the entire restaurant, the poor girl was running from table to table best as she could. She alone did a wonderful job. Occassionally someone who looked like maybe a manager came out to assist at the tables. But definitely this place needed 1 or 2 more servers to keep things moving. As a result, very slow service.Food was good, but average. Somewhat bland tasting, expected something more robust and authentic for a Chinatown restaurant. But still pretty good.I'd try this place again when it is less busy to give it a second try and see how it goes. Otherwise, I'd go somewhere else, as there are many places on the street."

"It's hard to find late restaurants in Victoria, so we came here. Don't regret it. It is very affordable, the portions are huge, the tea is delicious (a special blend of the house that is included with our food). Friendly staff, nice installations and convenient location. Recomended."

"This place is not wheel chair accessible and has a lot of stairs, took my mom a bit to walk up the stairs with her bad hip but it is a very beautiful place. It took a few minutes to be acknowledged, but once we were we got a seat right away, they werevery friendly just run off their feet. Even most of the tables taken and only 4 or 5 servers they were still very tentative.The food came in a very timely manner. The plum sauce was delicious, same with the curry, shrimp and sweet and sour. Thechowmein was ok, but I wasn't too fond of the breaded chicken or chop suey. It's a beautiful place though, I'd still go back togive other items a try."

"Great value for your money! I brought 9 members of my family for dinner one night aged 4 to 75, and everyone had a good meal and enjoyed themselves. Regular fountain drinks are even included! Even though the restaurant seems to stay very busy (That's a good sign!) The buffet is full.The staff was very friendly and check in on you lots to see if you need anything.Now the go to place for Chinese for us."

"Before John's Noodle Village was sold, it was THE BEST Chinese food in Victoria. Since the sale, the food is just not the same. I wanted to cry the last time we ordered food in from this restaurant, it was salty, soggy and bland."

"What can I say about this place other than it has been around with the same owners, for 39 years... 39 years! That's longer than your aunt Sharon has been designing jewellery. The food is still delicious as the first day I tried it when I was a kid. Protip: Get the Toffee Banana and treat yo' self..."

"My husband and I went here for dinner, as we've been searching for a new Chinese restaurant. It was pretty tasty, we had the wor wonton soup, the house special chow Mein, ginger fried beef, and sesame chicken. Everything was pretty tasty, however the chow mein was a bit crispy and undercooked. I liked that it came with lots of vegetables however there were more veggies than noodles. It was pretty expensive, all told. I wish they had combo dinners. We'll be back for lack of quality Chinese food in Victoria."
