"Nice little pub next to the Apex Hotel and connected to the Noodle House by a stairway. I'm pretty sure it hasn't been updated in years and has the authenticity that one wants when traveling to Scotland. We had a couple of pints and...shared a soup of the day and a fish and chips which came out of the Noodle House kitchen and was tasty. We'd stop by again if we are ever in the neighborhood."

"I have just celebrated my special birthday at Quays Commons and to say it was outstanding is to put it mildly. From start to finish my event went smoothly and the setting was just perfect. My menu was consisted of freshly prepared meats, beautiful cheeses, wonderful salads, delicious home made pies, chutneys, fish pates and freshly baked sour dough bread and crackers, almost forgot delicious Cullen Skink!. Everyone commented on how wonderful the food was and that they had never experienced anything quite so good at a party. A fine selection of wines, beers and gins were available for guests to purchase along with the option of purchasing wine from the beautiful display within the restaurant. We had a record player and had a nice selection of records from my era which worked brilliantly. The staff are wonderful and the manageress Jackie looked after us so well throughout the night. I had a chocolate mocha birthday cake that was delicious too. A brilliant evening was had by all and thank you for making my birthday so special."

"While Peters Yard is more of a Bakery than a coffee shop, they still need to produce coffee as good as their food. Their layout with the food in the middle of the cafe, surrounded by tables and the queue, where you pick up and carry the food to the counter to pay for it, is just odd and awkward. The coffee is more often too hot and comes across in a tarnished flavour in the coffee itself. The food though is not that bad, but the general experience just really lowers the score than I can give."

"We were visiting Edinburgh from the USA and were very impressed! Don't be deterred by the one or two negative reviews below...this place is lovely. It's welcoming, warm, and cozy. It also had the best espresso out of all the spots we tried in Edinburgh...which is saying a lot because good coffee in the UK is hard to find, in our experience. The food is delicious and you can tell it's made with love. Finally, you must try their Victorian Sponge Cake.....it was AMAZING."

"If you ever want to have a nice room temperature tap water with half a drop of strawberry syrup iced( drink for then this is your place. Located in the heart of the Spires car park, this little gem is in the forefront when it comes to alternative water drinks. Thats why I’m giving it a solid"
