"I visited on sat 12/08 and i been to this cafe a few times now over past couple of years and its normally when my own coffee machine is being serviced but i must say my experiences here have been on a gradual decline sadly. The menu and food on offer is a bit outdated and stale. im not a happy camper when served up cold bacon and sausages that are obviously cooked well in advance these were just hard, cold and inedible (You could snap the bacon in half it was that hard). You charge a premium so as a customer you want to be able to walk away with having a great experience all round."

"Great location on Whitehorse Road, Balwyn. Staff were all friendly and helpful deciding on what cake to eat. There is such a variety of cakes and savory, makes it impossible to decide as so much variety. If your looking for a cake for a special occasion there are such varieties to choose from. Prices may be a little expensive but one bite, then it's worth the price. Great coffee and great table service. Saw many locals having coffee and cake or if you want toasted sandwiches as well. Cappuccino was beautiful and such a variety of coffees and teas to choose from. Great fir a catch up with friends and such a great environment. Been to a few different Laurents, but this is my favourite one. Heaps os space to move around. Can't wait fir my next cake and coffee!!"

"Fantastic Muffin Break with fantastic customer service and lovely coffee and cakes. Kudos to the two Asian ladies who prepare the coffee and take orders at the same time as they certainly do a great job under pressure. Great range of coffee, pastry, and cakes, which are delicious. Will certainly be back here for my coffee hit. Thumbs up."

"Hands down the BEST churros I've had in my life. Every element was perfect, from the sauces, to the ice cream, the churros, and even the tea. The owner was very friendly and accommodating, and took the time to chat with us and have a laugh. Definitely found my new dessert go-to."

"A solid 3.5 stars rounded up I would say. Staff were absolute gems, service was wonderful but up until the end when we were ordering desserts and waiting for the Cheque, we were a bit forgotten. Food wise, wouldn’t say it was anything amazing, I loved the scallops, but the beef carpaccio was very lacking, the calamari rings were rather standard, oysters were fresh, but the oyster was rather tough and over cooked, my friend described it as tasting like chewy chicken. We got 3 entree sized pastas on top, I loved the gnocchi, it was honestly to die for and it was such a redeeming dish. The rabbit pasta (special) was a bit too Al dente for my liking but the rabbit was delicious, same goes for the duck risotto, was not a fan of the cook on it but that’s probably down to personal preference. Mains we had a lovely rib eye, already pre plated and split for sharing which was wonderful eye for detail from the chef. Thank you! The veal on the other hand was tender but oh so under seasoned. The salt and pepper shakers were very well utilized with both the veal and the mashed potato. We ended up adding a salad to offer some acidity because it was a HEAVY meal, lots of carbs, lots of protein, but the salad was sufficient to cut through a bit. We got the tiramisu and chocolate pudding at the end to share between 4, it was sufficient, tiramisu was very normal, loved the softness though. But the detail on the chocolate pudding was second to none, the chocolate covered popping rock candies were a delight and and melt in your mouth hot chocolate pudding paired with vanilla ice cream is never a combo you can go wrong with. Overall, for the price point I was expecting a fair bit more as Cecconis isn’t a cheap restaurant. It’s a nice dinner out but expectations weren’t entirely met I’d say."
