"I'm not sure that a lot of Mexicans from Mexico have reviewed this place. Because a lot of the reviews keep saying authentic Mexican food. While the food is delicious & there are some good authentic like dishes their main claim to fame which is their tacos are served on a flour tortilla... So NOT authentic. They also serve fries as a side & they offer Chimichangas. As a native of Mexico City who is in my late 20s I have still never tasted/figured out what a chimichanga is. It is definitely not a TacoBell, but it certainly is not authentic. Think about it as Mexican lite, for starters if you will. The food was good, the prices average, & the I love the decor but it lost points because of it's false confidence & the waitress' poor attitude."

"Very nice small Mexican restaurant and I don’t think twice when I want to have mexican food. The food: no doubt one of the best authentic mexican food places in HRM and I can confidently say it is one of the best in the province and its surroundings. The served portion is very generous and filling (you dont want to stop eating because of the deliciousness of the enchiladas) Service and price: Anna, Wilson and the other woman are super nice and Very welcoming and you will feel the warmth the moment you step in to the restaurant. The price is reasonable compare to the portion served. The only thing is they open 2 days only for lunch. Dont forget to try the jarritos.. I definitely recommend it and I will go again."

"Worst service I have ever received. Our group waited an hour and 15 minutes for food to arrive. It was fairly busy, but not super busy and we saw at least two tables order after us and get their food before us. It took more than 30 minutes for one person at our table to receive his beer.I walked out before the food arrived. My husband returned my meal when it arrived. He paid by credit card for his and did not leave a tip. When he showed me the bill, I saw that they had added a 15% gratuity to the bill already. I don't know of anywhere else in Halifax that automatically adds a gratuity to the bill.I'm infuriated and will be telling everyone I know about the lousy service and questionable billing practices."

"PSYCHOTIC, power hungry bouncers who are sad they couldn't actually be police, so they work here to beat on patrons instead. They regularly assault visitors here, sometimes to the point of murder. I wouldn't recommend this place to a single soul. Ever. This place should NOT be in business.So many great places to try in Halifax, and this is not one of them."

"I stopped in here on my way to the Farmers Market at the seaport to see what it was like as a potential for someplace to eat lunch. There is a relatively small dining area, but the woman was so welcoming I decided to stay. I had the chicken with rice and charboiled tomato with a dish of hot sauce on the side. The meal was very tasty and overall a pleasant dining experience. It is like eating a home cooked meal in someone's kitchen."

"The service was great. The salad was the best. The chowder was anti climatic and I could not finish it. In a area with great chowders this one was one not to try. The fish was dry, tough and tasteless. The was one other couple...there on a Friday night, that by itself should have been a warning to us."

"I've been to Springhouse twice and I ordered the taco salad both times. It was a pretty nice salad both times and the second time I was offered some house-made hot sauce as well. I really enjoyed it. The veggies are fresh and crisp. The dressing is not too strong. The server is really sweet and genuine. The whole place has a really chill vibe. I like the decor and there is a really cool poster in the restroom about plant protein. Check it out The next time I go I'll order something different. They have some nice things in their display case as well."
