"My brother and I went to sleep at the football after a afternoon. the place is very clean and tidy including the bathroom. the personal was found very polite and friendly. we both had the special area of the month. what I have to say was delicious and hot. I have something to eat that is not hot. I drove so on the alcohol-free drinks that I like to say was right (not expensive) we both had different whispers that I had homemade applecake and ice. my brother had homemade lemon balms. order the medaillon at the top so that it is not soft. by the way, the take-up is also available. overall we had a great time and next time I will go back to the opposite one."

"We had eaten at this pub about 4 years previous and had heard some good things said about the food since a change of Tennant. We had planned to go elsewhere but due to unforseen circumstances, we had to find somewhere else and decided to give it a try. Glad that we did!Due to the Eat Out to Help Out scheme, availability is becoming more scarce between Monday and Wednesday and The Observatory were very accommodating and managed to fit us in at short notice during mid-afternoon. In terms of safety from Covid-19, the measures put in place we're more than robust. One way systems, Social Distancing and hand sanitiser all backed up by plenty of signage.The menus were laminated and were still slightly damp from being recently cleaned. The menu was varied but not over-facing with more choices than were needed. The choices of ales was also quite varied with some guest ales that were very unique.My lads opted for the Haloumi starter and then the Burger, with extras such as bacon and pulled pork. I opted for the chipolata starter and Fish Chips, while the wife chose Sweet Chilli Chicken Wings and the Chicken Sizzler with jerk sauce.The drinks were all served chilled where needed and the guest IPA was crisp and well kept. The starters came out quite quickly and were freshly cooked and piping hot. There was plenty to share and all were extremely tasty. Not too filling either. Again, the mains followed shortly after finishing the starters and again were freshly prepared and piping hot. The Burgers were freshly made patties of about 1/4lb and the lads absolute loved them. They came with fries which were very crispy but soft in the middle.The Chicken sizzler was very tender and fried with onions and peppers. Again, this came with fries.The Fish and Chips came with mushy peas and tartar sauce. The Fish was a very generous portion, and the chips were very thick and crispy. The whole meal was more than satisfactory and a huge improvement on the previous tenants. I would recommend The Observatory to anyone looking for a great eating/drinking experience for a very reasonable price. I will certainly be going back to try more of the menu.Well done to the Management and team at The Observatory. Thanks for a great experience."

"We have been a few times here and brought friends from out of town. They were extremely impressed with the value and quality of the Roast Pork Sunday Lunch, £8.95 and it was better than ones twice that price. Lovely sunny table, the staff always recognise you, dogs welcome ! Can’t fault as always, much appreciated, first sunny day of the year and staff busy and still still smiling, no wonder people flock"

"We had the full breakfast and the desi breakfast. The quality of the food was excellent. The menu prices is very value for money. The wait for the food was minimal. The place has spacious seating and the staff were friendly. I advise wisely to order additional purees with your desi breakfast as the portion size is really good."
