"There aren't enough superlatives to describe this wonderful dining experience, but here goes...Dining al fresco in the beautiful garden was a delight. The food was a culinary experience of fresh ingredients, delicious combinations of texture and taste and excellent wine. The service was impeccable with every attention given to detail without being overbearing; service with effortless charm.It was almost as if one was dining with a friend who knew precisely what one's tastes were.This wonderful restaurant has set a high water mark for dining elsewhere!"

"Perched atop the Monchsberg mountain, the Gasthaus Stadtalm Cafe offered us a panoramic view of Salzburg. A local friend had called ahead to arrange for a table but was told that the restaurant was booked full. We decided to proceed up the hill by foot...and elevator to at least see the sights from above. As luck would have it when we wound our way around the fortifications to the Stadtalm, a table was just opening and we were seated. Although others in our party ordered more traditional Austrian meals, we ordered mushroom omelettes with side salads and chilled white wine. Enjoying brunch high above Salzburg was a delight, and the views were spectacular. We even saw paragliders on the far side of the city!"

"Si vous voulez des spécialités autrichiennes dans un endroit authentique, allez-y ! L'endroit est en dehors de la vieille ville, et ne paie pas de mine, mais nous y avons été très bien accueillies par la serveuse qui s'est assise à côté de nous pour nous conseiller sur la carte et nous n'avons pas regretté notre assiette de soupe de courge, la knödel et le goulash, bien servi et bien cuisiné ! Bonne ambiance, avec les gens du coin, pas de touristes... !"

"The Sheraton Hotel in Salzburg is a true example of excellent hospitality with wonderful people who fulfil all of your heart's desires. Clean and comfortable rooms, a lovely café bar and lounge, and a neat breakfast lobby with an inspiring view of the Mirabellen garden, pierced by the branches of ancient oak trees. The breakfast buffet is filled with nutritious and fresh foods suitable for people from all walks of life. The staff is extremely courteous and helpful: Cecilia, George, Alain, and the rest of the team, in particular, who were attempting to read our inner thoughts without saying a single word. The staff made us feel at ease by bringing out the best in us."

"Food prices listed outside seem reasonable but when you get inside the prices on the menu are much more expensive. The waiter was pushy and tried to get us to order quickly, we were not really excited by the range of options on the rather...grubby menus but we were hungry and against our better judgement decided to stay. We ordered a duck teppanyaki and a plate of sushi. The waiter asked if we wanted plain or fried rice, we assumed it was included in the teppanyaki dish, so we ordered fried rice. When the dish came it had plain rice; I told the waiter we'd ordered fried rice but would stick with the plain rice. Then he insisted on bringing fried rice too; this was essentially rice with oil on it, no additional ingredients. The sushi was disappointing, especially the rolls which were made with bits of crab stick. When we got the bill I discovered that fried rice was an extra and we had been charged for it! I expressed my unhappiness to the waiter and he first offered to round the bill down from to then when I continued to object said he would charge for plain rice instead of fried. My overall experience at this place was not a positive one; I would not recommend it."

"This is a cute little restaurant down a laneway, filled with locals, which was a good sign. Lots of people who appeared to be regulars, enjoying dinner. The gentleman serving was very polite despite being busy with orders. I ordered the Kasnocken which was nice,...and everyone else I dined with enjoyed their meals too. The menu is very extensive, and is written in a number of languages, including at least english and Italian from memory. The outdoor seating is nice, and hidden away from the hoards of tourists walking by."
