"Some of the dishes were nice, the ragout of the pasta was tasty, but the tagliatelle were definitely not home made as written. The potato cream in the octopus starter was very liquid and tasteless. But the most disappointing things was seeing the waiter offering...the limoncello at the end of the dinner to all the other tables but not to us, after also giving 15chf tips, they were probably in a rush to close the restaurant. Bad service and display anyway"

"Ok, das Essen war sehr gut, die Bedienung ok, die Preise, auch für uns Schweizer, über der Schmerzgrenze. Klar im Juli herrscht Hochbetrieb und Familien sind vielleicht nicht so umsatzstark, kurzfristig gedacht. So kam dann die Rechnung unaufgefodert und ohne nach einem Kaffee oder Dessert zu fragen. Frech war dann auch dass 1 Minute nachher bereits Jemand mit dem Kartengerät da stand. Willkomnen fühlten wir uns nicht gerade. Der Gipfel der Unverschämtheit ist aber, dass bei einem Tartar für CHF 48 noch zusätzlich lächerliche CHF 3 für 1 Stk. Extrafocacchia berechnet wird. Wann hört dies schweizer Gastronomie mit solchem Mist auf?"

"L'anno scorso la pioggia ci aveva costretti a pranzare all'interno, questa volta tutti fuori in terrazza viste le temperature estive! E' piacevole sedersi ad un tavolo rotondo in 4 persone, la vista sul giardino e la piscina è rilassante... Comandiamo 4 piatti differenti, dal filetto di manzo al pepe della Vallemaggia, alle scaloppine di vitello alle spugnole, i bocconcini di manzo alla Stroganoff e i gamberoni al curry, serviti su piatti ben caldi e contorni serviti a parte. Complimenti a Jean Pierre e brigata per la qualità, siamo più che soddisfatti e ci concediamo un dolce altrettanto delizioso! Il caffè è offerto, anche il servizio merita un complimento, consigliato a chi cerca un angolo di pace e qualità!"

"A charming romantic taverna. The chef is very skilful at producing simply cooked authentic Italian food. The risotto Alla Vongole e asparachi was perfectly executed as was the chateaubriand to follow. Wine list has some real gems, Sassicaia 2001 was sensational. The staff are charming...too. A must visit"

"Maybe the top hotel in Ascona?We visited for a meal one early evening we sat on the terrace overlooking the lake, enjoying the view after a few minutes we started to look at the menu and decided what to order.A waitress came up and asked us to move as she was about to reserve the table and proceeded to show us a table right at the back with no view, no apology stopping for a brief moment at another table to tell a gentleman he could have our table to which he replied his wife would not be ready for sometime?We decided not to stay and proceeded to walk away she made no attempt to appease us or apologies.I am so glad we did not stay here."
