"I've lived the menu at The Blue Iguana for 2 decades and decidedly this version is the best by far. My favorite deal meal is the Wednesday seafood special of 1 lb of king crab legs and 1 lb of shrimp. Plenty to share with a friend or a 1 man feast! The staff is learning from Ian on how to bring the fun and it shows on every face. Love this place."

"First experience was a great one. Super friendly staff reasonably priced drinks that came out fast and well made. Good atmosphere. I'll definitely have to come back again when they are hosting an event or something. Deffinantly stop by if your in the area."

"Attended the GMU Men's Basketball Coach Tony Skinn Coach's Show in the club room of the Ale House. Staff was VERY accommodating of my wife and I, who have mobility issues and cannot deal with elevated bar tables, so they set up lower tables for us. Room was a bit small for the large turnout, but no one had problems viewing the taping of the show or feeling the fellowship. I had the wurst platter, which was VERY good, and my wife the macaroni and cheese, which she loved. I was a little disappointed in the beers on tap (they advertise 100 beers, but many were overseas brands or ciders I was expecting more American craft beers), but I found a Baltic Porter that was quite tasty and satisfying. Overall, I would recommend the Capital Ale House for future Coach's show events and just as a date night locale (the main part of the restaurant seemed to be quieter with widely spaced tables). WE WILL BE BACK!"

"We have rarely eaten such terrible food. we have not finished our meal, even though we had starved. my cup gumbosuppe was a mud of shrunk hen and such hot paprika I could taste nothing else. the garnel and geese had a soak that tasted like ketchup with extra sugar and was almost as hot as the rubber bear. but the restaurant was almost empty on midday, our waitress was very pleasant, and the beer was cold and good. looks like a place where undergrads could have a good time drinking on Saturday night, but open table is full of places much, much better than eating a place."
