"Everyday dining. We were first seated in main restaurant and were not pleased. They would not serve happy-hour appetizers there. We moved to bar, watched games had amazing appetizers, a great bartender and drinks. Will only eat in bar from now on,"

"Seven of my friends and I met at Phil Trani's to celebrate two of our birthdays and to have a girls night out. The ambiance was nice and quaint, the service and attention from the staff was excellent. The food was good. Ample pour of wine and great price. I will return, maybe take a date. The lounge was fun and lively, one of my friends even sang with the band, it was great fun for everyone."

"Food is amazing. Had their crepe carbonara, our daughter had the carbonara pasta, and the hubs had the jamabalaya crepe. The carbonara never disappoints. The jambalaya was a bit on the salty side. So we wouldn't order that again. Overall service was great and enjoy eating here."

"Wow! First, the food was excellent. We started with beet salad. My wife and friend had razor clams, another friend had sturgeon. I'm vegetarian, I found the mushroom ravioli to be delicious. For dessert, we split a tiramisu and homemade ice cream. Our server Juan did a great job. Prices were reasonable. It was so good we were back the next morning for breakfast. My wife had Willapa Bay oysters, which she reported were fresh and delicious. We also split and order of New Orleans beignets.I had the blueberry waffles with blueberry syrup, it was wonderful. We highly recommend the 42nd Street Cafe if you're on the Long Beach Peninsula."

"First time trying this place and it was great. Staff was friendly. Food was good. The drinks were good. The place has a great atmosphere. Great decor. Has a family section and a bar area. The restroom was very clean and wheelchair accessible. They also have a family restroom which is great for people with kids. Ample parking. Located right on the main street into Long Beach. We went on a busy Saturday and they warned us they were a little short staffed, but they did great. Will definitely eat here again next time I'm in Long Beach!"

"Real nice atmosphere for lunch or dinner. The place can be loud and crowded, but the excellent food made up for it. Outside seating is the best IF weather permits. Staff are friendly and professional so extra tips are encouraged."
