"Saw the reviews in Avenue magazine so we've been trying to find time to go. Dropped in for Saturday brunch, make sure to book ahead as the space is small. Park in the neighborhood west of 124 Street if you don't want to pay, just be careful to read the parking signs.Small menu selection, no milk alternative available. Music way too loud, can't have conversation without shouting, reminds me of bar. Server did not look at us when she walked past our table, did not refill hot water for tea or my spouse's coffee without me having to flag her down then she forgets to bring my tea pot back because she was busy chatting at the counter with her colleague.Tried two mains: crispy pork belly with brussel sprouts and poached egg with cheddar chive biscuit; the Irving Farm pork was not done justice. The sausage gravy was obviously lumpy and beige, not appealing to look at or taste. The hashbrowns were greasy and sausage overcooked to point of being dry.Saw the fried chicken and waffles dish served at next table, it was weird to see whipped cream and maple syrup covering fried chicken. The french toast with fruit looked delightful if you like that sort of thing.Bad service and atmosphere with overrated food at high cost to your wallet. We are probably out of the norm on this place but we expect an establishment which has been reviewed by restaurant critics to at least meet those standards and unfortunately it is overrated."

"Have been to the former version of Riz, Lazia, on a number of occasions. Other than some cosmetic changes to the interior and some minor re-working of the menu the restaurant is the same. The Asian fusion motif has some good menu choices with the KL seafood hotpot, banh mi sandwich, ramen bowls, cashew chicken, nasi goreng and pad Thai done well. Lots of great options on the menu, the food is executed well and during our visit with a group of 12 was very quick. Our waitress was enthusiastic and got everything right the first time. The drink list also seemed very creative and priced well. Overall a good experience and I would go back but wasn't expecting to see so very little change from the former Lazia. Maybe the re-format was to try and compete against Joey Bell Tower, Ristizado, Chop and numerous other downtown options for Oilers game night restaurant traffic."

"We've been going to Earls for years and always had a good experience, expect this time. They have raised their prices substantially. The food was good, no issues except priced higher than should be. We were a party of 6, one being a birthday girl....Service started off ok, but slow, and got steadily worse. We had to flag down our waitress to get ask for dessert and a second round of drinks. She never cleared the tables of any of the previous drink glasses and desert plates and then we waited over 1/2 hour with no waitress in site."
