"Do not trust their flier prices or website, I ordered 2 kebabs off of the menu which should have been £15.50, to be told it's £20.50, I gave in to doubt that my menu was an old one and ordered anyway. When they arrived 40 minutes later they were barely warm, one had chilli sauce on which I'd specifically instructed I did not want, I called them back and they agreed after shouting at each other to send another which took another 20 minutes, I asked the driver for another menu which he gave me and surprise , the prices were £15.50. They are clearly making prices up to rip you off. I have heard from another customer that they've experienced this too."

"We rented the entire property for a family gathering in December 2022 which included relations from America and England. We selected the property as it looked gorgeous and offered ground floor bedrooms and bathrooms (my elderly parents required the use of walkers). The manager of the property, Chris Rose, was absolutely wonderful and very helpful throughout our weekend stay. While the house is beautiful, it requires a lot of refurbishment, updating, and loving care. We lost power to the house every day which resulted in no heating, no running water, and no electric. The downstairs bedroom bathroom, which my elderly parents were staying in, had no running water for the duration of our stay. They were forced to wear blankets and use the reception toilets to wash themselves. A plumber was called, but unfortunately, he did not attend the property during our stay. As a host of luxury rental properties ourselves, we understand that things can go wrong that are outside of the property owner’s control. However, at the very least, a property of this size and age requires a generator to maintain essential utilities, especially in the winter. The property manager waivered some fees which we were grateful for. However, we felt that our stay had been seriously compromised because of an avoidable issue which the owners failed to address. Furthermore, when we reached out directly to the owners, Alex and Gretchen Boon, as advised by the property manager, they did not even respond. We are leaving one star, not because of the beauty of the house, or the wonderful staff, but due to the absent and neglectful owners and the very poor value for money. This house deserves to be respected and taken care of. Unfortunately, it feels that the owners are not invested in the property or the experiences of their guests. If any readers are considering hosting an event at this property, please ensure a generator has been installed to avoid a similar experience to ours."

"Was on a weekend break with my husband. Found a lovely Indian takeaway, atmosphere was lovely. They had quite a large selection of Indian dishes. We both had the chef special. I had the Chicken Jalfrezi and and Jeff had Chicken Tikka Madras with rice and Bombay Allo complimenting with garlic nan. The taste of Indian curry was fresh as ever, excellent value for money, highly recommended. Will definitely visit again. Nicky Jeff."

"The Golden Fox is consistently good. Each visit has produced an excellent meal and service and the portions are generous and well presented. The mushroom stroganoff and gammon steak are particularly good! Staff are extremely courteous both on the phone when booking and in person....Wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Golden Fox."

"We recently stayed at Compasses Inn country pub with a hotel and bar. The peaceful ambiance and cozy accommodations provided a perfect escape. The surrounding countryside offered picturesque trails for outdoor enthusiasts, while the pub staff was helpful in arranging activities like fishing and horseback riding. The menu featured delicious traditional British dishes, and the staff's attentive service was commendable. For a memorable getaway with plenty to do, this country pub is an excellent choice. Will be back for more."
