"Just visited for a meal yesterday and VERY impressed with the NEW management that have take over from the previous owner. fresh and tasty and truly INDIAN , mainly north Indian style and well cooked to my taste being SPICY NOT TOO HOT . Indian...bread Naan Roti and Parattah were very good especially Parattah. Fressh well cooked BASMATI rice went well with tender chicken as well as tender lamb. Reasonably priced with genorous serving. If you like Indian cuisine well worth a try and am sure you will be impressed"

"So this place was pretty good, the service was good and the food very tasty and the atmosphere very nice but I was a little disappointed that I specifically called out that it was for a birthday and was advised that this would be noted on the booking. However no candle on the desert as promised and the service was not as attentive as I'd hoped. Still pretty good for what it is and I'd reccomend going there for the food but slight room for improvement."

"I visited the roast kitchen along with three friends. Overall we were very disappointed with the quality of food and price. Admittedly the 'large plate' had lots of food but for $32 you would want to hope so considering it's not really a 'eat in' restaurant. The food itself was tasteless and bland which all of us agreed on, even the gravy they couldn't get right. Very disappointed! Wouldn't visit there again."

"Our third visit to La Q was extremely disappointing. (In fact, I almost allocated the one-spot TERRIBLE to our experience.) We and our two friends - who live in the area - were looking forward to a catch-up and good food. We certainly caught up with each other but the good food was gone and the service was dismal.On arrival we asked for flute glasses for the sparkling wine. The waiter returned to the table and said: "There are only three flutes left so one of you will have to use a wine glass." In a restaurant that was only one-third full? Strange!We ordered a large mozzarella and garlic caslzone to share as a starter, then three lots of veal saltimbocca and one serve of salmon and spinach penne. Our sparking wine was almost gone and there was no sign of the calzone so we called the waiter. "There was a mix up in the kitchen and it's on its way:, was the response. Wait, wait, wait - then mains were delivered. This time we were told, " The mains were ready so we decided to serve the calzone with them." What?? This was not acceptable to us. There was no mention of it being complementary so we told the waiter we no longer wanted the calzone.The meals were pretty average.The veal saltimbocca was cut into smallish pieces and looked like a dog's dinner on the plate. It was dry and unpalatable. The spinach that accompanied the dish was nice, but the potatoes were luke warm and soggy. Our friend ate about half of the salmon and spinach penne. I tasted a bit and agreed it was nothing like the former food at La Q.We wanted the manager to have feedback so I asked him to be sent to the table. He was aware of the mix up with the calzone and made lots of excuses, none of which we believed to be valid. We commented on the low standard of our mains - more excuses. He then offered us a free dessert. We did not want any more of the restaurant's food so we declined. When I mentioned I had given the restaurant good reviews in the past and was very disappointed about fallen standards, the manager offered our meals for free. What! We were not after a free meal. We wanted to offer constructive comments so he could lift his game. We paid for the meal but did not leave a tip! All of us agreed there are lots of other places in Kew, so we will not be back. It's a pity, because we used to enjoy La Q for reasonable prices, good food and attentive service. The prices remain lowish - but it's not value if you do not like your meal and get appalling service."
