"My husband & I visited this Fish & Chip shop, after it being recommended by locals & another visitor. There was a bit of a wait for our order, due to the amount of people, but it was well worth it. The fish pieces (Flake) were large & we couldn't finish the chips & we got the minimum amount!"

"A great makeover for the big corner bar has turned this very central and ordinary pub into a good place for a meal with friends. A huge log fire, paintings by local artist Katharina Rapp, and potted olive trees make an interesting decor. Yes, it's still pub food, but last time we were there we were able to negotiate additional vegetarian offerings which weren't on the menu. The other huge bar still has a pub feel with a pool table, but keep watching this space for changes. Oh, and did I mention the poetry readings on the fourth Sunday afternoon of every month?"

"First (and last) visit to this place. After paying, a voice from out the back commanded I be charged extra for my (free) drink. I complied. As soon as I opened the package containing my souvlaki, I was overcome by the smell. It wasn't even possible to determine 'what' kind of meat it was. Straight into the bin. I have read reviews here which praise the variety of the menu. Don't be fooled, their offerings are miserable. Overall, the place is pretty grubby, including the staff. Lots of 'wiping hands on pants etc'. This business has been for sale for a long time, that it hasn't sold is not surprising. A truly horrible experience."

"We go there regularly and it has been always consistent.Love the Panner do pyaza dish. Very authentic dhaba style curry reminds me of dhabas on Delhi highways. The naan is fresh and really soft. We go to lots of Indian restaurants and love to try new ones but naan at Chawla are the best in Perth.The staff are ever so sweet and always happy to accommodate any special requests. We have been there fairly late a few times but they never push you to hurry. Will definitely recommend!!!"
