"We called in for a hearty breakfast before going to the rugby. Well, it was awful. It was tasteless, flat sausage bland, eggs bland, thin bacon etc. The coffee was good on the plus side. The worst part was the attitude of a manager supervisor behind the scenes, whom we never saw. The poor waitress, who was very pleasant, got confused and gave a normal sized breakfast to another table instead of a small, leaving my friend, who had paid for a normal, faced with a small. She realised what had happened and took it back to sort, only to return, informing us that the manager had simply listened and said 'go ' and pointed her back out to face us and to sort it. Absolutely shocking. All he needed to do was add a mushrooms and a slice of bacon from what I could make out. The poor girl didn 't know what to do and just stood there, holding said small breakfast and apologising so we accepted the it, just to make her life easier. We went to Aldi and cooked our own breakfast the next morning. Much cheaper and 10 times tastier. Morrisons really needs to look at this cafe!"

"Old and tired. The staff were lovely and friendly but the Best Western brand/owners are letting the hotel down. It is in need of a huge renovation and a good clean. There were lots of work men staying (which I don’t mind, but it gives you an idea that it’s a work hotel and not for leisure or a holiday) The carpet in our room was filthy and behind the bathroom door was dusty and full of other peoples body hair."

"Service: Amazing and fast! Vibe: great atmosphere in the restaurant. Cosy, but not overwhelming. Beautiful tables and room. Food: good hearty portions that taste amazing price: extremely reasonable with two or three course options suggestions: Ox Cheek Ragú Pasta shown in the picture is amazing!"

"Oldest pub in Scotland 1516! Enjoyed a a few drinks.....we relished the thought of history attached. But must say service not great and hot chips we ordered not great...over done, hard and not seasoned at all. Add a bit more service and better food...and the experience will be all encompassing and magic!"

"Went here for a meal last night the steak fajitas were amazing best ive ever had, but unfortunately my partners meal was not so good he had the mixed grill most things on it was good but the beef and the pork the expensive...bit of the meal was not so good) when I told the waitress she apologised and told me she would let the chef know both items were tasteless as I also tried them. When receiving on bill we kinda hoped that theywould knock a little off bit not . Sucj a shame is my meal was really good my partner even told the waitress we would not be back but didnt seem to bother her ."

"Birthday Dinner we were lucky enough to have booked a table as everyone who came in after us were turned away because of a shortage of staff on what had been a busy day so they were closing early so be better to book before you go to save disappointment. Food was great served by courteous staff well worth a visit. 8/10"
