"Great food. I was back in a few years and eating was normal. went a few months ago with a buddy and was pleasantly surprised. as a chef, I can be very critical myself and can be a very demanding customer. I had a scotchfilet and my friend had a parmy, the meals were very generous in view of the very reasonable price. the steak was perfection, well seasoned and well cooked chips. the chef rad was very courteous and friendly, will be safe again."

"Been a while since I visited Hobart, found a cafe that I had visited previously. Today was exceptional, they were busy but the food and coffee arrived in minutes, a delicious big breakfast, good coffee. Service was prompt and cheerful, can only say it improved...on good.."

"I am a vegan and although there wasn't a vegan meal on the menu, I was catered for ver nicely. I had mushroom, tomatoes, hash browns and spinach with relish. Very nice. The people with me said they enjoyed their meals and they had coffees...which were made to their requirements. There is a cosy fire in the back room and an art display downstairs."

"This is a lovely historic Restaurant/Hotel & Pub set on the waterfront of Hobart The pub area is quite lively and showing Sports on the TV so not too relaxing in that area but the restaurant is completely separate to this area The restaurant has some tables which are fairly close to each other which is a slight drawback but we found this acceptable as the service and the food was very good In my opinion we had one of the best meals here that we had throughout our short stay in Tasmania (only beaten by MONA museum's food) The waitress was helpful and professional throughout our mealThe restaurant did not have any wifi which is a drawback nowadays as is expected in most places in EuropeThe food was very tasty and Flavoursome for both the main course and the sweet/pudding courses - see photos The fresh vegetables were cooked perfectly which again was better than most places in Tasmania We parked very easily behind the restaurant on the street for free (after 18:00)Would definitely recommend it here but you would need to book beforehand Enjoy"

"Great food, great service. My friends came here for 3 days in a row. I only got to go once before we left hobart but will be straight back when we return. Even going to pick up a coffee and some records on my way to the airport. A proper cozy cafe where yr cups are not matching and they know how to make tea. Coffee damn good too"
