"Wasn't sure at first because its like a fast food set up. You pick your combo plate and sit down and eat. Simple enough. Very open and airy environment, nice atmosphere with a Krishna image airbrushed on the wall or maybe painted? not sure. In any case, I had read some previous reviews about the food, particularly the daal being bland, not spicy enough, etc. Quite frankly, the daal was pretty good! I'm Indian --Hi --- grew up eating daal practically every day as a staple food, various kinds of lentils and daal cooked many different ways, and their yellow split daal was pretty damn good. It wasn't too spicy and they didn't just add tumeric powder and call it daal. They had other essential ingredients and the texture was pretty damn good. Both my boyfriend (who makes a killer daal second to my mother :) liked it. Their other dishes, cauliflower (gobhi) and potatoes and peas (aloo matar) was spiced quite well. It wasn't that they just added turmeric and called it curry spice. They actually added other indian essential spices like cumin, etc. So my take is do try this simple cafe style indian restaurant. I felt the food was clean and simple, not fancy fluff. I'm still trying to figure out if they are part of ISCKON or formerly which for me would be even better because then I know the food was made with LOVE and good intentions :) Enjoy....great for lunch or quick dinner."
