"I could remember the island bastei from a visit a few years ago: chic ambiente, great terrace with views of the Rhine and modern delicious cuisine. not quite cheap but his money worth. I still know that my appetizer soup was so tasty at the time that I wanted to give up for a second. Everything's different now. First of all, I noticed the bright red carving poster - something that makes up-high gastronomy doesn't actually... especially not in signal red....The first look at the ambiente inside seemed chic. With large leather chairs, tasteful decoration in the dining room, as I had in memory. Here someone has already set a photo, which looks very elegant on the first impression. unfortunately you can't look exactly. the details are dirty, spinnwebs, bumped corners etc.Blick into the other direction: the theke fully tied with kram, colorful advertising for a roller shutter company on the tresen (and later also found on the WC doors), a rather unappetitious bottle fridge with three cakes in it, which also did not look more delicious and the whole area in the direction of folding. Also a part of the earlier very beautiful terrace was filled with container, müll and kram. The other part was neglected. the wood furniture is probably exposed to weather throughout the year and even the plastic furniture has experienced better times. The flowers grow cross and cross, beautiful is only the view away from the restaurant - on the Rhine. The service on this day was unmotivated, very swaying and a bit spoiled. hardly any table I had in sight, something came without mistake. At us, eating without cutlery and without supplemental salad, and on our request to get one, it actually said that the one was brought before eating. We would have noticed that if we had eaten an salad without cute. the pommes still almost white, my noodle dish driped in oil and had a lot of pfeffer, although it was not a sharp dish. the price for 1x noodles, juice choir and coffee for ambiente with 20,- perhaps justified for the quality of kitchen and service rather naughty. I was very disappointed and can imagine that the restaurant is not visited by the inhabitants of the island."
