"We stumbled upon this place within our first hour in Havana. We had not done any research before we left for Cuba and assumed we’d be eating nothing but rice during our stay. At first we were just happy to get out of the sudden rainstorm but we were so thrilled by the tasty VEGAN fare and amazing service that we ate here EVERY DAY!!! The staff was incredibly informative and happy to accommodate our dietary restrictions. We would highly recommend the black bean and veggie stew, veggie tacos, veggie sandwich, and the tostones! I miss the food and the friends we made there."

"The atmosphere and music is good. the employees are helpful and look forward to it. both of them I went, no vegan food was available. in anbetracht covid has influenced the tourism numbers and the food shortage in the country, this is understandable, so I do not want to give a negative review because of it. the smoothies 8 cdn) and coffee 3 cdn) are the best in Cuba. they also have many vegetarian options with iron and cheese. as a vegan is not an option. they offered to make toast and veggies, but that would not be worth the $15 Canadian it would cost with the current exchange rate."

"I am so glad that we stumbled over this restaurant while we walked in the neighbourhood. the workers are so nice and friendly. we didn't even finish, but twice! daiyron, our server, was so friendly. Make sure you have it as your server. eating is amazing. my fiancée had both the lobster and I had the pork chop once and the cheeseburger for the second time. the drinks are also good!"

"For us to eat one of the best places we found in La Havana. Location is great, service was also great, very attentive and never rushing, place is cozy but somehow remote, but very close to everything. They have tables and chairs outside, they make pretty good tacos, but where they seem with their drinks, we had a lemonade with mint and virgin Mojito, both were delicious, perfect for your walking and thirst. Prices compared to other places in old Havana were much better given the taste, quantity and presentation of food and drinks. We can get here twice, once only adults and another opportunity with teenagers. Overall really like Cafe Espada."

"The food is not bad even though it often arrives uncooked. Their service however is appalling. I have been a customer since the restaurant opened and they really do not care about customers. When you call to order food, the hostess who answers the phone has 3 to 4 conversations going on simultaneously. She does not focus on the client and keeps cutting the conversation to respond to other people. She never knows what is available and has a very casual manner not focused on completing the order efficiently. The portions are small, so the price is average. I would not recommend the service and the stress of dealing with the staff!"
