"We went here for lunch before our visits to the Banco Material and the Casa Museo Marta Ortigão Sampaio. Still unsure if I negotiated getting a table fairly, but here is what I did: there was a short queue of one family of three who told me I had to go to the bar to give them my name to get in the queue. I went to the 3 person bar, then had to move into the path of the servers, bumping into do e young men at a table near the bar. Everything is very tight there, but the servers are very thin. Finally, not getting acknowledged, I tried to melt into wall. Two tables of four young men each got up and offered me a table. I waved at the family ahead of us and pointed to one table then waved to my husband to come sit at the other one. Eventually, servers had time to clear our tables and then later set them up, then even later give us menus. They worked very hard.There was a man leaning against the wall during all of this and I think I took his table. He finally got a seat at the bar and did not seem angry with me, Desculpe! Ok to the good stuff. They had a menu of daily plates, the regular menu, drinks and a Tourist Menu which I refused to look at. We got Rojões and grilled bacalhau, house red wine, still water. Wiw! The rojões were the spiciest food ai have had in Portugal. Really tasty, but not all that hot. The grilled bacalhau was done to perfection. Having been in Porto for a full month, we have eaten bacalhau many different and delicious ways. Rojões Chunks of slow cooked pork came with french fries and Rice, some tomato slices and a piece of lettuce.. Juices from the meat helped flavor the rice and fries. The grilled bacalhau came with boiled potatoes and chickpeas. They set olive oil and vinegar cruets in front of this dish so we sprinkled them on everything. Delicious! It is a working person, suited person, soccer team kind of place. Insert foreigners and shake well. Lovely people with our fractured Portuguese (not Spanish, not Brazilian). Lovely patrons. Be patient, be brave, be grateful!"

"I’ve been going to Jeremias for some years now. And I keep going whenever I can. I simply love the place. Why? Well, the food is delicious, with all the products being extra fresh, traditional, and from small producers who know their work quite well. The mix of flavours is amazing! And it caters both for big eaters and small eaters. Then, the owners. They were friendly and lovely from day one. They welcomed us as if we were old friends. They took their time to answer our questions and offered suggestions. From that day on, I guess I can call them friends. I loved the decor… even though I’m not a big fan of comic books… What more does one need from a restaurant? A friendly smile welcoming you, a fun place, great food. A must, definitely!"

"Menu of the day with two super well-priced options. We have eaten 1 soup 2 chicken dishes with potatoes, rice and lettuce wine water 2 cakes 1 decaffeinated coffee Very homemade food (the baked chicken potatoes were like my grandmother's). Apart from the food, the attention was very good (so that we could choose the dessert they brought us a piece of each cake for us to see). It is hidden in a street but it is worth it."
