"We go to untried restaurants with neighbors every few weeks and read good reviews about Darsalam. We loved it as soon as we walked into the cozy spot full of momentos and photographs ! of Iraq. My only quibble is the price, which was surprisingly high, but then I realized that we'd had a bottle of wine plus enough food for us to each take home practically another meal. We will go again for certain, but order less food. The kabobs were exceptional, as was the beet salad, but one was plenty to split 4 ways, and we ordered 2. Lovely staff, cozy spot and great food!"

"This is a lovely restaurant with friendly , helpful servers. The pompano fish looked and tasted fabulous! The yogurt dessert was one of the best I have ever had. I had an excellent gin gimlet, delicately flavored with cardamom. Highly recommended, especially if you are looking for something different"

"I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed this place. The food was excellent. The lamb was incredibly tender and fell from the bone. The atmosphere was beautiful and fun. There were covers of Popsongs playing all night. The server was friendly, friendly, courtesy and welcoming. What a wonderful treat was the whole experience. A must for all my future visits in Portland."

"Overall not a bad choice. Was staying in a hotel a block away so decided to give it a try for pickup. Had to wait about 10-15 minutes once arriving for the order to be ready. Food wise, I did not care for the Chicken Tikka Masala. It had a slightly scorched flavor. Rice, Garlic Naan, and Gulab Jamoon were good. Vegetable Pakoras were outstanding! The best part of the meal. No utensils provided."

"Went for dinner along with my friends. The staff was really good. Excellent service. For dessert we ordered Faloodeh thinking it will be similar to what we get in India but since it was different, we conveyed it to the waiter and after few mins the other staff member came to our table and gave us complimentary Faloodeh. Thank you! Retaurant even has bar counter. I wanted to try Rose water ice cream but that was not available. Do try 1. Jalapenos Cilantro Hummus which comes with eight pita bread pieces, 2. Garlic shrimps and 3. Ekmek for dessert! We ordered Jalapenos Cilantro Hummus, Garlic Shrimps, Persian Rose, Turkish Delight, Blood Orange, Kobideh Kebob, Chicken Souvlaki, Garlic Shrimp with Skewer of Saffron chicken, Ekmek, Faloodeh."
