"The food was good, we go often and the quality remains good. The service usually is very good but this time for some reason the food of one person in our party of 6 was very delayed. The rest of us were done eating by the time the delayed food arrived. They treated us to a free dessert so that was nice. It’s a nice neighborhood restaurant with good seafood. Good for families. Portions are big."

"After living in SF for 16 years, this was only my 3rd time at Absinthe. Squash soup was good. Yellow tail carpaccio was very disappointing. It was topped with something fried (breadcrumbs? and the fish just tasted like fried oil. I clearly chose the wrong dish!"

"We had 5:45 dinner reservations Valentine’s Day. It was a pre-fixe meal- so all dinners were the same. We still waited over 1.5 hours for our entree. Salmon was good, once it arrived. On the smaller side portion wise. They said staff called in sick, but I don’t believe the excuse, as I saw people standing around quite a bit. Bummer- this was at one time the “go-to” place. Not sure anymore."

"The pistachio cheese cake was amazing ,everything was delicious would rate a 4 out of 5 for service, they were very busy though ,would definitely go back sometime ,when in the area and try something different . "I had the Chef's tasting menu. Overall it was excellent. I am looking forward to Chef's next chapter of tasting menu. I personally think it's the best valued 7 course meal in the city, Especially with wine pairing already built in to the $120 per person proce point. Chef had it just right, as I know how difficult it is to impress anyone with 7 courses of American based cuisine."
