"Absolutely delectable. Went here for dinner and was blown away at the creativity in the dishes and the deliciousness of them as well. Pictured is a wagyu roll with quail eggs. Everything we had was so tender and perfectly flavorful. Highly recommend the hot rock too. Soooo good."

"I was in the mood for some sushi, so I have a The Blue Fish Japanese Restaurant with Kristina N. I was in the Museum District in downtown, but it was my first time in Washington Avenue. When we arrived on Thursday night, there was only a parking service. The interior had an interesting mood, a kind of dark with bright lights. We sat immediately without reservations. I ordered the Chu Cucumber cocktail to start. This consisted of Tyku Soju, Tyku Superfruit Citrus Liqueur, Licor 43, fresh cucumbers and club soda for $12. That was a decent cocktail, but not worth the price tag. We then ordered some appetizers including the Miso soup for $2 and the Agadashi Tofu for $6.50. This Miso soup was typical, but the Agadashi Tofu was pretty good. The Tofu part was perfectly fried, not too crispy or soft. The Bonito flakes were a nice touch. After looking over the Signature Rolls menu, we noticed that there were no prices! We found the prices listed on the paper with the names of their signature rolls. This was somewhat confusing; why not only the prices on the main menu as well? We saw an interesting role that was listed at a throw $25.95! This was the Mega Lobster Roll, which contained 7 ounces of Maine Lobster Tail panko encrusted, asparagus, gurke, avocado, masage, spicy and lobster Mayo and eel sauce. This is a huge role, and they even add additional pieces of fried lobster on the side! It was a good one-time attempt, but I probably wouldn't order it again. We also ordered the typical nigiri sushi including the yellowtail (Hamachi) for $6.95, salmon (sake) for $5.95, tuna (Maguro) for $6.95, and the fresh water eel (Unagi) for $6.50. They came with two fish pieces each. They were cut a little longer than I am used to and were a bit awkward to eat, but the fish was definitely fresh. We were very stuffed from this point. If you check in on Yelp, give you a voucher for a free Tempura Ice Cream. We could not fit another bite, so we decided to use this offer at another time. Overall, I enjoyed dinner at The Blue Fish. The fish was fresh, though decreasing, and the atmosphere was cool. It's not a traditional Japanese restaurant, so don't expect it. We would come back if we wanted good quality sushi in the area of Washington Avenue."
