"The restaurant name „Extension“ at the Hotel „Kastanienhof“ in Prenzlauer Berg, together with the name „Berliner Schankwirtschaft“ and the guest room decorated with many antique sheet metal plates, first close to normal German home cooking... But far missed! What the cook today has served us as a recommendation as a 4-course surprise menu was creative and very well tasted: A finely lined lentil quilt with croutons followed a salmon maul bag with brushed vegetable strips and river cancers. The main course “Kleine Rinderroulade” was hauchzart and was handed over to a Pastinaken-Kartoffelstampf plus red cabbage. And the three-piece dessert of chocolate has hulled not only by its composition and the pepper-tray chocolate, but like the courses before it by well-sized portions, without being oversaturated unnecessarily afterwards. Conclusion: Good attentive service team. Food surprisingly and as German dishes very tasty modern interpreted. Our recommendation: Get in touch with the seasonal surprise menu and the daily kitchen recommendation."

"Wow! Thank you TripAdvisor members for this one. What a great experience. It was a little tricky to find because it’s in a courtyard. But it is right near the synagogue. We did the family dinner. This is basically a less pretentious tasting menu. They ask if you have any restrictions and then they just keep bringing out dishes. All of them were delicious. We also did the unlimited beverages which is beer or wine. It is a bargain. Everything g was great. But the cauliflower and carrots were easily my favorites"
