"The people are really nice at Kayben and the head chef was really helpful up to the event. Our earlier tasting was delicious, however, the meals on the day of weren't very good. Perhaps because it was a big group and they pre-make everything. The salad was great, but the main course left a lot to be desired (chicken) and the portions didn't match - roast beef had huge pieces and chicken was really small. The chicken plates came out almost empty...it was kind of strange to see - as compared to what I'm used to for a plated wedding dinner.It was a summer wedding and they have NO air conditioning and they didn't even turn on all of the fans for our guests or test/fix the lightbulbs ahead of time so we could adjust the lighting for our first dance - we had to ask if we wanted their help. Honestly, for the prices we paid I would have appreciated them being far more pro-active and helpful. I would've complained to them, however, it's family run and I have a feeling they wouldn't have done much."

"This is a chain restaurant, so the food is pretty much the same at every place. What made the difference that I was pleasantly surprised by were the little things in terms of service that make this place stand out.I went with a family for a weekend Breakfast. We had two small children, one in a high chair. We were given a large booth a little out of the way, which is great, and the service staff ensured that the children were taken care of first. Very nice.Service was fast and efficient, and I was impressed by the food quality. Everyone enjoyed their meal. We did not have to wait too long for the food, and I liked that they answered honestly regarding questions about the food.I will go back next time I'm in Okotoks."
