"Sono stato recentemente con amici in questo tipico grotto ticinese. Abbiamo mangiato all'aperto in quanto la meteo è stata clemente. Raggiungerlo non è stato semplicissimo, da Mendrisio si sale verso Arzo e giunti a Arzo, si devia a destra e proseguendo sulla strada si deve in seguito girare nuovamente a destra. Non è stato evidente arrivarci, infatti i cartelli con le indicazioni sono pochi e a volte nascosti dalla vegetazione. Sul posto vari parcheggi. La terrazza esterna è piacevole e sotto gli alberi. Il servizio attento e veloce. Noi abbiamo cenato mangiando risotto, polenta, vari tipi di carne serviti su vassoi grandi. Tutto buono, unica pecca è che essendo all'aperto e non avendo nulla che potesse tenere il calore alle pietanze, quest'ultime diventavano fredde abbastanza velocemente. Comunque al termine del pasto, quello che è avanzato, si è potuto portarlo a casa. Vari dessert a disposizione e carta dei vini interessante. I prezzi dipendono sempre dal vino bevuto, comunque siamo nella linea dei 40/50 Franchi a persona. Comunque per chi cerca un grotto sicuramente merita una visita."

"We enjoyed wonderful dinner and wein in bottegone del vino. simeon, our charming waiter, has made really good recommendations from the impressive wine list. the eating was an excellent quality that we had a fish starter, and the pasta and steak and the tiramisu was delicious....The restaurant has a cozy terrace that is a perfect place for a summer evening."

"The grotto is nice and cosy, not very central but close to the center and easily accessible by public transport. we have been kindly served and have fed very well at very reasonable price and enjoyed an excellent tessiner merlot. we will definitely take the grotto grillo back into account at our next Lugano visit. by the way: there is even an extra dining room for smokers."

"We were a group of 8 local business women. we were the second table to come to the restaurant and leave one of the last, as an extraordinarily long wait until main courses arrive. starter (three different types of betare) were really good,...and arrived immediately, but our main thing came all separated, with long gaps in between, so that we were not all in a position to eat at the same time. the risottos that last arrived were tepid, with a skin formation. not pleasant. a dame ordered braided bark that was inevitable hard. it was taken away by the manager with a bad gnade. then the exact same plate was returned 20 minutes later after a magic in the microwave and without comment. not exactly what you expect when you pay 38ChF for a court. with water at 12.50ChF and the cheapest prosecco that they could find for us at 60chf “, we were sadly disappointed by the quality/price ratio. we had decided to have a stylish, tasty and friendly lunch, but it was pampered by poor management and poor food."

"Once again I have to strongly criticize this restaurant in a positive way, today I went to eat tagliatelle with the fresh tomato and feta dice, I say only delicious, the excellent pasta the aroma of tomato was exceptional, it is seen that the products are of very first quality. Go to the restaurant business, the friendliness of the staff and say little as if they were your relatives and do so with everyone, waiters who love their work in the pleasure of serving us. That's it!"
