"Happened upon this little place by chance and what luck! Had the veal sandwich for lunch - which was terrific and decided to also pick up a chicken (!) lasagna for dinner. Based upon the price I had thought the Lasagna would be for one BUT boy! That's some serving! could easily feed two hungry people. Very tasty, Very good quality. And cheery staff! what could be better!"

"It had a been a couple of years since I had been here but I recently moved into the neighborhood and I am glad I did. My girlfriend and I decided to walk over for some lunch the other day and I didn't realize how close it was to where I live. The Portuguese banter from the employees and customers alike let you know you're in a no none sense neighborhood staple. A lot of people talk about Bonanza, which is great, but Duarte's is just as good and they are slightly cheaper. I got the veal with mozza on a bun and my girlfriend got the salami sandwich. She said no tomatoes because she doesn't like tomato on sandwiches and she enjoyed it very much. The veal sandwich was good, and I devoured it quickly, but I feel it may have been better had the bun been slightly toasted to stand up to the moisture of the saucy veal. It was very tasty nonetheless. Next time I'm going to get the meatball sammie as per my good friend's recommendation. Unbeatable prices and way better than any sub chain. You can get 3 sammies for the price of one subway sandwich and these sammies are way better. We were a couple blocks down the street when a car with a couple of guys stopped to ask where Duarte's was. I happily pointed them in the right direction and told them that's where we just came from as I proudly showed them my bag of sandwich. Clearly a word of mouth type of place. Might even consider doing a grocery shop there as it is also a full on food market."

"I ordered some Chinese won ton soup, it was really excellent. Only they didn’t give me any soy sauce. I got the Singapore noodles, unfortunately they were dried out and the consistency of the noodles was weird. I got the appetizer of fried dumplings and they were pretty good."

"Went with my dad after a Ticats game recently. great eating and service. clean and welcoming atmosphere. my father had a chicken and pasta dish with garden salad, very tasty. I had a big pennum sauce. the great is great, fantastic portions for the price of 11 dollars! I would recommend the spaghetti over the penne, although with the meat sauce. total, amazing eating, great service, and just one of my favorite places to eat in hamilton."

"Whenever I am in the region dundas, hamilton, st. catharines or niagara, I can't go back to toronto without eating first at the buona vita pizza. the biz is operated by a nice Asian couple. eating is very high quality and delicious. it's fast in the mind. they have a large selection of pizza/party/casual foods and if they don't see exactly what they want on the menu, they simply ask them. also their wings and bbq chicken sandwiches should die. their larger pizzas are massive. they have offered some nice free toppings that they can add to any pizza. the owners are friendly, charming and hard working. the pizzas carry well, even back to toronto in the qew Sunday traffic. If you are looking for some good casual fingerfoods or delicious pizza and don't want to support a chain rest, I can't recommend bwp enough!"

"What a waste of good space. Locke Street in Hamilton is brimming with great restaurants. This place is new and you would expect it to rise to the local standard...but it didn't. We tried the advertised special one evening, steak and onion on a bun. The tiniest little slice of meat that they generously referred to as steak was worth a fraction of the price. They offered sauces and what they called hot sauce on mine had no flavor at all."
