"We arrived at 7:00 p.m. and we were seated immediately . Our waiter took our drink and appetizer order. When he brought the drinks we ordered our entrees. The onion rings were good but the poppers were very expensive. For $8.00 we expected more that three small poppers. The food took a very long time to arrive. The restaurant was busy with guests waiting for the entertainment to begin but very few were dining. Three of us had the brisket and one had the pork. Even with the sauce the meat was very dry and overcooked. We had heard the chef was the same person from Puddle Jumpers and we liked the food there. Very disappointed."

"Overall, the food was average. The burgers were large, however, you pay a premium for French fries. I would rather they just inflate the price and make French fries standard. The included item is potato chips. My mom and daughter had the burgers and said they were pretty good. I had the stuffed shrimp, which didn't have a lot of flavor. I could tell I was eating shrimp and crab, but there wasn't much flavor. The portion was four stuffed shrimp. However, the shrimp were of the medium variety that I would buy at my local market. They were ripped with a tablespoon size crab ball. I had to pay a premium for cheese on my potato. This dish was $29, which I was prepared to pay, but was disappointed when it came out. Or meal was $95 (including a 15% tip). I'd also like to add we all had water to drink. I think the bill was a tad too much when two people in my party had a burger. The best part was dining outside right at the water. I drove from central Virginia to dine there, and am not sure if do it again. Just so so."

"I read quite a bit about Locavore before I tried it out. The food was delicious and I felt really good about supporting local farms and businesses. The service was great. The only thing that's a little disappointing is the ambiance. If Locavore had its own restaurant instead of being in the hotel, I think the design and style would fit better to their aesthetic."
