"I see the Birch and Anchor logo every time I take the Bedford Highway and yes it picked my curiosity. Decided to go have a steak after church today and on getting there at 1pm, we were told they were still serving the brunch menu and would start serving the dinner menu at 5pm. The brunch menu had lots of salads, teas, eggs and just 1 burger meal. Had to order the burger meal since I was very hungry. The meal was okay, the potato side was nice, environment lovely, waitresses were helpful, band playing serenading music and altogether a good experience. I will definitely visit to try the dinner menu."

"We stopped in just for a quick snack as we already had a dinner plan, but were hungry. We ordered the nachos, which turned out to be massive and delicious! Their location on the water is gorgeous and we loved every minute of it. Service was also fantastic. We can't wait to come back in a couple of weeks and try some more of the menu!"

"My partner and I were looking for a quick lunch, and stumbled in to Ciboulette. We both ordered a chicken panini, and the sandwiches were delicious. The bread was chewy and flavourful, and the toppings complimented each other. I ordered coffee as well, which was very good. My only complaint would be that the sandwich on its own was a little insubstantial. If you're hungry, definitely think about adding a salad or a little something extra."

"Fred, the man, is a trailblazer for Halifax. He has good instincts on all levels for turning people and places into things of beauty. FRED, the restaurant and the food epitomizes this. Who new that a bank could be turned into a wonderful place for art, beauty and food. You can tell by the details, as this is what I look at, that there is care in how the FRED experience is enjoyed. I go here for tea and lunches so this is what I can comment on. Tea is great, cupcakes are AMAZING, try the two bit cupcakes if you feel guilty which still come on a plate with a fork so you can pretend its a larger serving. The cupcake flavours are usually seasonal with some tasty and inconceivable flavour combinations.The salads are always delicious and fresh, the olive oil they use in their homemade dressings is from Greece. The paninis are excellent - I've tried most of them, and would love to see their meatloaf sandwich back on the menu in the winter! You won't be disappointed with the food. I agree with another poster that the service is usually slow. This would be the only area I see that needs improving. Always a great art exhibit every time I go as well."

"Oh the Henry House so much love for everything they do. Our last visit was spent at their christmas high tea for our anniversary. They went above and beyond. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, the food to die for, and the customer service always leaves you feeling like you’re a part of the family. We will return time and time again."
