"Platanos Restaurant opened on 1979 in the historical Platanos square, between the perennial Hippocrates tree, Lotzias mosque, the Italian headquarter and the ancient agora. It has been accommodated in an old Italian building of 1935's that during the Italian domination used to be, Officers Club and it has been renovated recently. From early in the morning on the ancient agora view side, long drinks, coffees and sweets are served. On the other part where you can see Hippocrates tree you can taste dishes, always based on fresh raw materials, seafood, meat and vegetables from our Mediterranean and Greek creative kitchen. Kitchen opens from 12 o'clock in the evening for lunch. During the night you can enjoy your dinner except downstairs also on the ‘’secret balcony’’ with the panoramic view of ancient Agora and Neratzia Castle. Dinner is served accompanied by live music. Except dinner you can enjoy till late your drink or a cocktail always with the quality that Platanos is known about ."

"Nice and quiet location, warm welcome and very friendly service throughout our visit. Wide choice, the stuffed zucchini flowers and the (juicy) kebab were fantastic. Good value for money and a nice evening to remember!"

"Nicely decorated and popular place. Good to have other taste after many days with Greek and Mediterranean food. You have to wait a while for the food. And it is quickest to pay at the counter than asking for the bill. Be aware that the taste and ingredients might not be authentic. The noodle’s I got, was suspected to be “instant noodles”. If you look for reasonable Chinese food, there are many other restaurants just farther away from this tourist street."
